"So I f*cked up."..................I'll own it.
Per the usual, according to social media I'm not doin' somethin' right. I get it.
Tried to open a small bar in a small town.
It became a RESTAURANT. Everything I was trying to avoid after decades in the biz. Despite the fact we don't have the facility nor capacity to actually be one. Yet we held our own however, just sayin'.
"Cheers Bar, with elevated food." That was the idea. Anyone still here in 2026?
Didn't happen.
My fault though. Again, I'll own it.
People demanded a restaurant and I leaned into it. Hard. I saw people PEOPLING though. So I ran with it.
Not what I intended. See first photo. Didn't hide it and still don't.
And I'm glad we did it. So many memories. Wonderful times. Blessed.
But it's time to pump the brakes. For me. Let the HATE begin.
It's time to REBRAND. Actually, in my mind, go back to my original vision.
So please hear me out, has nothin' to do with anti-family, big groups, takeout, catering, etc. Somehow the public, and a lot recently, have a different expectation of what this place is and how it should run. And tell ya' the truth, kinda tired of it.
We can't be EVERYTHING TO EVERYBODY". We've tried. I've tried. Failed.
And to be honest, my breaking point is putting my staff through making apologies NIGHTLY for not having accommodations and seating for 20. Not doing TOGO. Having no online ordering system. Etc. Etc. Etc.
We're a sh*tty bar in Milan. 🤷♂️
"Yosemite!?"
Sorry, not sorry.
I've sounded like a whiny b*tch in many posts, I get it, but that wasn't the intention. It was having to defend what we are, who we are, and why we do it. Over and over and over.
And here we are again. And a lot lately to newcomers.
Ugh.
Setting boundaries and parameters are not a bad thing. You don't expect Fil-A-Chic to have b**r on tap, do you? NO. You go there for a reason. So do I.
They don't apologize for not having BURGERS. And neither should we.
As much as this pains me, but needs to happen, as of Tuesday, August 18, we will be a 21+ DIVE BAR (with elevated bar food of course).
I.e. a date night spot, grab a bite to eat and a few pints, hang out with your buddies on a Tuesday for some pizza. Post some Insta foodie shots with your besties. Yes.
But a RESTAURANT to apologize for not having a bouncy house room and a private dining area for 30, ya' that's not us.
"Let's scream at the servers for not accommodating a massive group of mostly kids for a birthday party, at a BAR!"
Not their fault. We seat 24. Half of it is a bartop. The other half are sofas. Yet they get yelled at on the daily. And I'm over it. It's not their fault.
I've seen people fighting over seating in the sofas cuz they have kids. WTF? 🤷♂️ Ya'. I see it all, even from the kitchen.
Not why I did this.
So............................
Just a PSA, as of next Tuesday, we're a 21 and over BAR. Same food. Same staff. Same me. Same love.
A bit of redirect.
Sorry to disappoint some of you, but we can't be EVERYTHING to all. Just gonna stay in my lane. You're welcome to join, just know what you're gettin' into.
"Enjoy the ride."
*and to whomever destroyed one of our corn hole AMERICAN FLAGS, thanks for the settin' me straight. I get it now. I don't care about the corn hole, it's the f*ckin' flag. Not ok.
