BREAKING NEWS: I will say this again towards the end, but the last day for Beef O Brady's in Midlothian, TX to be open is June 29th. Come by and get a final fix of your favorite meal or drink before we are gone.
Now I guess it's time to hear it straight from the horses' mouth.
The rumors are somewhat true, believe me, I have read them all both the good and the bad. Beef's is a franchise. I signed a contract with them 10 years ago and that contract has come to an end. It has gone by quick, but now I had some options in front of me. I could sign on for longer, I could start my own brand, I could rent out my building (yes, i own the building and the land and no I don’t argue with myself over the rent) or I could see if someone else had a dream in mind. I chose the latter.
Someone else came along with a vision for their future and the best part is, they are local. I will let them tell their story.
Now to our journey. What an adventure it has been. My GM, EJ Perrin was riding shotgun the whole way. From the groundbreaking until the final farewell coming on June 29th. Our other familiar faces were riding in the back seat and keeping us entertained along the way. We have had 8 couples who met at Beef’s while working here and are now married, that’s crazy. Our restaurant employees became family. We then got to know so many of you in the community and we extended our family. We have hosted you for parties and celebrations throughout the years. We have laughed with you, cried with you and celebrated with you and it has been our pleasure. We have cheered on all of our local schools and students of all ages. We have hosted fun events with the City of Midlothian. And I have gotten to emcee a few fun things with them and The Chamber Of Commerce. All in the name of Beef ‘O’ Brady’s.
Now for me, Brad Golden, don't worry about me. My wife and I are about to be grandparents for the first time, and we aren't even old enough to do that, but we are doing it anyway. You might see my name pop up again in the future and if you have gotten to know me over the years, pay close attention. Most of you know that my philosophy on life is that God put us here to serve each other, so find a way to serve those around you. You can bet your bottom dollar I will be doing that.
Our building will still be standing with a different owner, but many of the same faces still ready to greet you at the door or join you inside for a meal and a drink.
It has truly been a pleasure watching your kids grow up into adults. Seeing them graduate high school, then college, then getting married. All through the lens of the restaurant. Our final day is going to be June 29th. I am going to do my best to keep as much food stocked until the very end, but please know, my goal is to run out of food. This experience has been one for the ages. Usually, a restaurant just closes the doors and nobody knows why and the rumors spread, well I have been lucky enough to do it a different way. We will see you around town and maybe this time I can buy you a beverage and sit and visit without running to check on something else. Stay in touch and may God continue to bless my amazing staff, the city of Midlothian, the future restaurant in our building, its owners and last, but not least, you, our patrons who have supported us over the years. See you all soon and stay tuned…
Love you all,
Brad Golden
