The Blue Door patio will never be the same without him there at book club with all of his girls.

I have never seen a human and dog as connected as he and his mom, and we are so gutted for Aly. She did everything in her power to fill his final days with adventure, new experiences, and hugs and kisses. Fact- if there were a record for most kissed dog, Humphrey would own that title for sure. I’ll miss kissing his sweet head.

Goodbye sweet boy, and don’t you worry, everyone has got your mama. We all promise.

Our third cocktail for Midland Cocktail Week was created by bartender , who brought mole back from Mexico just for this drink.

We named it after Limantour, one of our favorite bars in Mexico City (there are so many to choose from). Frequently named one of the World’s Best Bars, it was a pioneer of the CDMX bar scene.

Limantour- Tequila Reposado, Cacao, Mole, Coffee, Vanilla, and Gold Leaf. It’s rich, lightly sweet, and has a touch of spice.
*contains tree nuts from the mole

Available Tuesday-Saturday as we celebrate Midland Cocktail Week.
It will pair nicely with live music from Wednesday night.

The 3rd annual Midland Cocktail Week starts Monday, which may have you asking “what is cocktail week exactly?”

It is a week of collaboration between local bars and restaurants, where we celebrate the art of a well made cocktail.
Each venue will have a menu of 3-4 cocktails that they created just for cocktail week, in addition to their normal selections.

Need more? Every location has a special event lined up during the week, including live music, karaoke, a jazz brunch, and more.

We can’t wait for you to try our cocktails, which will have everything from mole, cacao, passion fruit, truffles, and sour cherry jam. And be sure to save the date for Wednesday when will be playing from 7-10.

Tickets etc aren’t needed for Midland Cocktail Week, just plan your itinerary, get an Uber, and hop around!

Our second cocktail for Midland Cocktail Week is named after my favorite bar in Paris, The Little Red Door. It opened in 2012 just like us, has a brightly colored door to welcome you, and a deeply innovative approach to cocktails and menu design.

The Little Red Door- Ketel One Vodka, Vermouth, the slightlest touch of Olive Brine, and Creamy Truffled Cheese stuffed Olives. Even better? We mix the martini and keep it in the freezer until you order it, resulting in maximum chill and a silky texture.

Midland Cocktail Week starts Monday, and you do not want to miss this once a year collaboration between your favorite local mixers and shakers.

There are 7 venues participating, and they will all have a special Midland Cocktail Week menu, in addition to their regular selections.

We will have four special cocktails, all named after our favorite bars across the globe.

First up, Cure. Cure ignited the modern cocktail movement in New Orleans in 2009, and it is one of the most influential bars we visited while planning The Blue Door in 2012. It is so special to us that we have taken 3 sets of employees to observe, enjoy and learn.

Cure- Bourbon, Amaro Nonino, Cinnamon, Vanilla, Sour Cherry Jam, and Lemon.
We can’t wait to make you one next week.

It has been raining kittens this spring in Midland. Every time I open a social media app, someone is posting “free to a good home” “I found this kitten and can’t take keep it, who can take it ?”

It’s overwhelming. Local rescues are doing their best, but their space and funds are limited. Soooo….we are hosting a kitten shower benefitting !

Join us on the patio to snuggle kittens, learn about bottle feeding, and support a good cause. If you’d like to bring a gift for the kitten nursery, the needed supplies are listed for you. If you can’t attend, but want to contribute, Venmo me and I’ll do the shopping for you!
