Aluminum is endlessly recyclable. Let's do our part.

Aluminum is endlessly recyclable. Let's do our part.

Earth Week Tip #2: Recycling is attractive. (Research proves it.) Also, aluminum is an infinitely recyclable material (it never wears out!) SO, load that Recycle Coach app on your phone, get a friend to follow our page, and make sure all your beer cans (and bottles) end up in a blue bin. It's good for the Earth AND for your reputation.
--------------------------------------------
Did you know? Studies show that men may consciously or subconsciously perceive things like recycling, using reusable bags, composting, or other actions beneficial for the environment as “feminine” and therefore avoid them.

Ironically, research also shows that women find men who actually do those things *more appealing.* (If you’d like a longer read on this topic, links to articles are posted at the bottom.)

Along with this insight we think it’s time to share a data point we haven’t mentioned before: 81% of our page followers are identified by Facebook as female.

What are the takeaways?

Well, maybe we need to offer some “manlier” content here. Please post suggestions in the comments! (We can’t wait to read them.)

Men, maybe when a date comes over you need to make sure that empty bottle of beard oil or can of masculine body spray is displayed prominently- in a blue bin. (FYI- more than 50 million Americans said they would be "turned off" by someone on a first date who doesn't recycle.)

Honestly, we’re not sure what the takeaways are. We all live on the same planet, with the same resources, and the same consequences for our actions (or inaction). Gender identity shouldn’t matter when it comes to going green? But we challenge you, in honor of Earth Day, to recruit one new guy to like/follow this page. And, we’d love to hear what everyone thinks about this issue (or how your dinner conversations about it go).

And remember anyone who shares our posts this week, comments, or tags a friend will be automatically entered into a drawing for a compost bin prize package worth $100! (One entry per day, winner announced on this page at 5pm on Friday.) FYI- It’s a sturdy, black, utilitarian compost bin. Using it will build self-reliance. Turning the compost will build muscular strength. And composting is definitely hot.

To the 19% of dudes who may see this post: You’re awesome. We’re so glad you’re here. And we think you are muy macho indeed.
