Please join us in welcoming FF/EMT Brayden Bowell!

Brayden has completed several weeks of recruit training and will now be entering normal duty with crews on a shift. While he was already a firefighter/EMT previously, the training is designed to allow recruits to get familiar with Fire & EMS operations specific to Middletown and what they will see as a firefighter in this city, ensuring they are prepared before they are on shift work.

This week has been filled with great community engagement, continuing the Spray Downs and visitors stopping by the station. We had a Spray down at Lefferson Park, where there was a ton of fun all around! Then we were graciously presented with Blessing Bags, made by the kids at the Breiel Church Vacation Bible School. They made a bag for every member of the department and each one was unique and special.

On July 7th, during the regular council meeting, we held a badge pinning ceremony honoring the accomplishment of 2 of our members. FAO Aaron Cox was promoted to the position of Fire Lieutenant and FF/Medic Josh Meisner was promoted to the position of Fire Apparatus Operator. Both gentleman have been dedicated members to the Division of Fire and the citizens of Middletown. Join us in wishing them both the best in their new positions and we’re excited to see them continue to grow in the organization!

The gates open at 4pm and fireworks are scheduled to start at 10pm.

This week we are expected to maintain a very high heat index and being outside for any prolonged period of time can be dangerous to all ages. It’s important if you have to go outside to stay hydrated, limit exposure to the sun. and keep an eye on your friends and neighbors.

In Middletown MidPointe Library has been designated as a cooling center, located at 125 S. Broad St.

Monday-Thursday from 10:00am-07:00pm & Friday-Saturday 10:00am-05:00pm .

We would like to congratulate our members on graduating from Butler Tech Adult Education Paramedic School today!

Paramedic school is a very long and challenging process with countless clinical hours, classroom time and sleepless nights. They will now be able to provide more advanced care in the field and better serve the citizens in Middletown once they finalize certification requirements.

Today we welcomed friends, family and colleagues to celebrate Lieutenant Steve Riley’s retirement party. Lt. Riley, has been with Middletown Fire since before a good portion of our members were even born ( May 6th, 1992).

Lt. Riley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2017 and has spent a majority of his time as the officer at Station 83 and most recently Station 85 on 1st Platoon. Lt. Riley has been a mentor for many of the members we have today and his impact will be felt for many years after his retirement. He has brought countless laughs with his humor and carried his vast experience and knowledge to calls for service all these years.

He is a Middletown native, veteran and has spent most of his life serving others. We thank his family for supporting him for all these years and we hope they enjoy retirement.

Thank you Lt. Riley, you will be missed!

Each year kids finishing 6th grade are selected by Middletown Schools to participate in Fire Camp. Throughout the day, the students are shown aspects of our daily life and get hands on training of tasks performed by firefighters. We keep it safe and controlled but they stay active and involved all day. It’s an opportunity for them to experience this profession outside of just seeing a fire truck drive by their house.

This years sponsor was Hightower Petroleum whom we can’t thank enough for their generosity in making this successful. Thanks to Middletown Schools, teachers current and retired, CBI, Middie Meal Machine, City of Middletown, and all the great students who participated in this day with us!
