Well, this post is not gonna be easy to write!
September I moved my whole life(& my kids!) to come up and take over something I didn’t know had so much damage done.
Between my parents pre-me damage, (yes both of them! Neither one is more innocent than the others despite what haters say!) the never ending talking s**t from past patrons and bartenders alike, (I said what I said!) and everything and anything else that has been thrown our way, we have tried and tried more!
I’ve put every bit of money into this place that I came with, help from Gram, and every penny from my tips and business back into that place! Because next month was gonna be better! 😞 For months! While everyone’s ”boycotted” it over race pool money that I had NOTHING to do with. (I couldn’t make it right if I tried, because I don’t know the exact details or money involved!) or the fact that it was not a good place because of other things that happened before I got here! Which for the record, that was never allowed when I was here!
We had plans to change the concept that others were excited for! While trying to do all that, we found out some stuff that was beyond our control at this time and have no choice but to close the doors! The state says I can’t open the doors!
A few things have came out of this! The biggest is that I know we still had the best wings and burgers in the area! Hazzy’a isn’t being looked at for the new community center! (Thanks tooo the taxes being paid in full!) and lastly, this isn’t closing because of anything I did! I couldn’t fix Hazzy’s and that’s ok! Hazzy’s time had run it’s course!
20 years Hazzy’s (John and Cara) dedicated their lives to a place that sooo many of you have memories or stories of! 20 years of helping others, supplying the building, catering, booking entertainment and back room parties! 20 years of benefits for their friends and others, life celebrations, and if you needed a hand, they were there! Nobody ever entered Hazzy’s and left a stranger! 20 years of celebrating holidays with their bar customers rather than their family because some of them didn’t have a place to go! I could keep going, but I’m pretty sure you get the gist!
Good people fall! But when you live in a town that everyone would rather talk about everyone else’s skeletons than face their own, you end up with a town full of ”better than that” people. Instead of helping their friends, they pretend they don’t know them! In reality, I may have been gone for a while, but I know a lot of history about a lot of people in this town! (I bartended here faithfully every Saturday night for 8 years or so!) & lastly, we live in a town of hyrpocrites! I said what I said! Hypocrites are in ever bar around here! I see you. I’ve just kept my thoughts to myself because it isn’t flattering for business! 😘
I may not have been able to fix Hazzy’s and that doesn’t sit right with me, but it wasn’t for the lack of trying with everything against me! I will return, but it won’t be Hazzy’s again!
I’d like to thank the ones that came in and gave us the fighting chance! The ladies, Scott and Lorainne, Royal and Sarah, Don, Jordan and all his friends, Holly and Adriana, Marissa and Ron, Bubba and Lorainne, Angela and Russel, Greg and Melissa! Little Greg! Melissa and Russ, Kelley, Karen! I know I can’t possibly name you all, but I am thankful for you all! Someday, somewhere I will sell you wings again! 😂
