Marine Corps League Howlin Mad Detachment 93 - "Tun Tavern"

We are a not-for-profit veterans organization whose regular membership is comprised of active duty and former U.S. amphibious warfare.

Marines, FMF Navy Corpsmen, and Associate Members - Veterans of WWII to present day. We have been serving NWI since April 19th, 1963. We feature a non-smoking environment with a full bar and a daily menu. If you are a smoker you have a separate smoke room attached to the back side of the building where you can smoke and enjoy your drink. There is seating, a TV, and speakers that play the Jukebox in the smoke room. The Marine Corps League - Howlin Mad Detachment #93 was named after Holland McTyeire "Howlin' Mad" Smith, KCB (April 20, 1882 – January 12, 1967) he was a general in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He is sometimes called the "father" of modern U.S. His nickname, "Howlin' Mad" Smith, had been given to him by his troops in the Dominican Republic in 1916. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holland_Smith

🚨 EVENT CANCELLED — AN AFTERNOON OF JAZZ 🚨

Unfortunately, due to the recent severe storm, widespread power outages, and the ongoing impact on our community, An Afternoon of Jazz Fundraiser scheduled for August 29th has been cancelled.

We’re incredibly disappointed that we won’t be able to gather with everyone for an afternoon of great music, great people, and an even greater cause. 💔🎷

The safety and well-being of our attendees, performers, volunteers, and staff have to come first.

We sincerely appreciate everyone who supported this event, shared the flyer, and helped us spread the word. ❤️

Please continue to keep an eye on the Tun Tavern page for any future updates or information regarding rescheduling.

🚨 WE’RE STILL CLOSED — POWER IS STILL OUT 🚨

Unfortunately, Tun Tavern is still without power, so we remain closed for the time being. 😔⚡

We know everyone is ready to get back to normal, and trust us, so are we! We’ll be keeping an eye on things and will update our page and our website as soon as power is restored and we’re able to reopen.

We appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and support while we ride this one out. ❤️

The club will be closed until further notice as we don't know when power will be restored. As such we are preemptively cancelling Monday's normal meeting which was slated to be our annual Summer picnic. We will post again when we have a replacement date for the picnic and if we will be open at all before next Wednesday, the 20th.😭
