Hey friends! Ms. Carolyn Komatsoulis over at Idaho Press wrote a great article about us and the growth of the Treasure Valley as a whole and the story was also scooped by KTVB. Go and let them know your thoughts!

“With every project, there’s these naysayers that want to see nothing built and they want the city to stop growing," owner Brian Tsai said.

Hello friends! Here’s the latest as the local news outlets start to get the scoop on our project. The Oasis and that corresponding business will no longer be opening a concert house or club at the corner of Ustick/Eagle due to our permits being reneged by the Meridian City Council. We are just a small locally owned business and do not have the capital to seek judicial review as most corporate chains would have done. While we seek an alternate location, it is likely that Meridian will go without a concert house for at least another 2 years.

In the meantime, the site at Ustick/Eagle will be turned into The Dalton Royal, a restaurant and entertainment multi-purpose space. It will feature late night food, pool tables, specialty cocktails, and also host community events such as comedy club use, trivia nights, and other event uses. Until we have more news on The Oasis, we will be posting primarily over on our page for The Dalton Royal, www.facebook.com/thedaltonroyal. Please follow that page as it will become our primary communication in the near future. For more details, also check out our website, www.daltonroyal.com.

With everything wrapped up on The Dalton Royal, we anticipate to begin construction in the coming weeks with an opening date in Spring 2022. Everyone on the existing invite list for The Oasis will be invited to the same soft opening for the new facility. We understand if you are no longer interested in attending, please let us know and we will remove your name from the list. Thanks everyone for your continued support and we hope to see you soon!

Welcome to The Dalton Royal, a tropical themed restaurant and event space. Open late for all ages!

Hey everyone! I know this page has been quiet for the last month or so, but a lot of things have been going on behind the scenes! In case you didn't see, the city of Meridian had previously approved our permits, and then subsequently reneged after the City Council heard a third party appeal. CBS2 wrote a great story about it, attached below.

We will be posting a lot more in the coming weeks with the latest news. The best thing you can do to help at this time is just share our posts with your friends and get them to follow our page!

In denying this permit, the City of Meridian continues to solidify themselves to be known as "the chain city" of the Treasure Valley, blocking small independent businesses and supporting large national corporations. It is unfortunate that the elected officials are willing to walk away from a project that will provide an estimated $10-20 MILLION in additional revenue from music events alone in order to appease a small group of religious extremists who brought 200 of their church friends to a hearing. Perhaps the separation of church and state isn't as prominent as we thought?

To date we have had to cancel dozens of community events and donations because of the loss of our permit to include:

- Canceled dozens of booked weddings and receptions.
- Canceled several large community and corporate meeting events.
- Canceled dozens of local musicians and promoter events booked across the next year.
- Canceled several fundraisers and pledges to local non-profit organizations for event hosting.
- Canceled tickets and event space donated to the Idaho Humane Society.

The list continues to mount as we reorganize and re-evaluate our use of this space. In the meantime, it is heart breaking to see the community we grew up in to be swayed by false propaganda and the skewed opinions of a few who inappropriately leverage their religious connections.

In the meantime, we are also on the lookout for a new location to place The Oasis project. If we're going to move, let's make it a larger space that can accommodate touring music events! In case you haven't seen, it is much harder to find appropriate commercial space in Meridian than even residential units! If you're a realtor or developer and know of something, send us a message!

Tell us your thoughts below! What would you like to see this space at Eagle/Ustick become? A new billiards location? Perhaps a comedy club? Stay tuned.

It was a long, and likely frustrating night forBrian Tsai, owner of the proposed Oasis nightclub in Meridian. The city council on Tuesday voted unanimously to deny the permit, which had previously been OK'd by the city's planning and zoning commission. The majority of the attendees were not too happ...

Have you met Jake? He’s a celebrity downtown and our resident mascot!

Now that you’re here, we’re hoping you’ll attend our hearing on July 20th at 6pm, Meridian City Hall. There’s thousands of supporters of our project here on social media and we thank you for the continued support!

This is a video from one of our public hearings. This woman by the name of Cherilyn Kynaston and her husband Michael Kynaston called in and went on a rant about our project to the point where the chairwoman of the commission put her on mute.

This couple, along with Cherie and Jonathan Hoeger, the owners of the local feminine hygiene product company, Saalt, are the people who have filed an appeal of our approved permits to the city council. This appeal process is currently the only reason for the continued delays in construction, as our building permits have already been approved as well.

Perhaps it is just a coincidence that out of 67 other licensed alcohol establishments in Meridian, these two couples chose to specifically target the only one that is minority owned. They also had no problem with Villasport, Big Al’s, or Top Golf, two of which are facilities not only 10-20x larger, but also directly abut residential zones.

The appeal hearing is one week from today on Tuesday, July 20th at 6pm, Meridian City Hall. It is apparent with over 1000 followers between our social media accounts, we have tremendous community support for our project. Thank you so much for your continued support and we hope to see you soon!

Hello everyone! Thank you for your continued support. Here’s the latest!

Permits and Status:
All of our permits have been fully approved and our building is being finalized for full construction entitlement. We are at least two months behind at this point due to supply and labor shortages, and some engineering delays. This puts our opening to the public into November 2021. For those on the soft opening list, don’t show up on our previously mentioned date because no one will be there!

Employment:
Thank you everyone who have sent us letters interested in employment at our facility. We had originally planned to start the hiring process in July 2021. Due to the aforementioned delays, this will also be shifted appropriately to about September 2021. Please keep an eye out for postings here on Facebook and on Indeed.

Appeals:
Despite being fully approved, a couple in Meridian as well as the Villasport tenants have filed a third party appeal for the approvals with the Meridian City Council. Please share our page with your friends, music and dance groups, wedding parties, or anyone you think might be interested in a truly spectacular multi-purpose venue.

Booking:
We are currently holding off on booking events on our calendar until a more definitive construction timeline can be finalized. Depending on your intended use, we will book with a 2-6 month lead time or more if needed. Most people who are interested in booking have already made contact and we have your lead times in mind!

The big boy toys are at the site and construction has been underway for some time now! We have a hearing next week for our final permit, and we need your support! The city has received over a dozen emails from people who are opposing our project, claiming it will bring crime and somehow ruin the family atmosphere of Meridian. In reality we have about 15 supporters for every one opposition, but the city needs to hear your voice!

The Oasis is not just a nightclub. In fact, less than 20% of our operations can be considered nightclub use. We have booked over 10 couples, many free of charge, to have their weddings and receptions here, fully catered! We are putting both the Idaho Humane Society and the Meridian Canine Rescue on our calendars, opening the venue to adoption events welcoming all ages (kids too!) Puppies LOVE the interactive floor. We’ll have several local dance clubs, some with over 40,000 followers nationwide and their own video training series, featured at our space and excited to bring dancing for all styles including hip hop, ballroom, and country western! We’re even working with some local high school cheerleading groups so they can host their seminars and meets at our venue.

What else? Well we’re limited by characters on this post. But we’ve also reached out to the Meridian Arts Commission, an advisory board of the Meridian City Council, and offered them the use of our space, completely free of charge, for any use of their future uses. Art shows? Trade events? Who knows!

The hearing is scheduled for 6pm on March 18th at Meridian City Hall (33 E Broadway Ave, Meridian). We would love to have you attend in person to support our project. However, it would be just as helpful if you’re able to attend virtually or even send a quick email to [email protected] and reference your support of H-2021-0004. Thanks in advance and we’ll see you at The Oasis.
