The last 9 bottles of the 2009 Orlando Abrigo Nebbiolo d'Alba arrived yesterday, and once they are gone, they are officially gone for good.

Finding beautifully aged, small-production library releases like this is exactly why we love hunting down geeky, hidden-gem bottles. At 17 years old, this Nebbiolo is hitting an absolute sweet spot. We are officially wrapping up our Tuscan feature and moving our glass pour flight straight to the extreme, high-altitude vineyards of Mendoza. If you think you know Argentine wine, this lineup is here to completely elevate your perspective.

We are pouring four incredible, terroir-driven bottles that showcase the dramatic elegance of the Andean foothills:

Catena Zapata Alta Chardonnay (2022): Grown nearly 5,000 feet up in the mountains. Forget everything you know about South American whites—this is crisp, taut, creamy, and loaded with a beautiful, chalky mineral acidity.

If you’re looking for the ultimate patio white to kick off the afternoon, the Mokoroa Getariako Txakolina just landed on the menu.

Fun fact about this bottle: The native grape here (Hondarrabi Zuri) is grown on steep, terraced cliffs directly overlooking the Atlantic ocean in Basque Country. As the sea breezes roll in, they deposit micro-layers of actual sea salt onto the grape skins while they grow.

This week we’re pouring the organic Castelvecchio Vitovska from the wild, wind-swept limestone cliffs of Carso (right on the Italian-Slovenian border). It is bone-dry, incredibly crisp, and absolutely packed with mineral energy. Think juicy white peach, wild thyme, and a distinct, salty ocean-spray finish that will make you feel like you're sitting on a Mediterranean coastline.

Fun Fact: DNA testing revealed that this hyper-local, ancient grape is actually a natural love-child of Malvasia and Glera (the grape used to make Prosecco!). But instead of bubbles, it channels all that energy into a beautifully still, stony, and complex masterpiece.
