Bill Glenn Burrows
March 2, 1936 - January 8, 2018
Your presence we miss, Your memories we treasure, Loving you always, Forgetting you never. Bill Glenn Burrows, Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Uncle, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, Friend. Some called him Coach while others called him Mr. Burrows, Bill, Billie or Daddy O. Bill entered into Heaven on January 8, 2018. He resided in Lodi, CA and was formerly from Merced, CA. Bill was born to Glenn & Reatha Burrows on March 2, 1936 in Missouri. He graduated from Stagg High School in Stockton, CA and continued his education at Stockton College, transferring to Fresno State University where he received his Bachelor's degree in Physical Education. He completed his education at Boston College where he received his Master's degree in Mathematics. Bill had a 30-year career as an Atwater High School Math teacher where he eventually became Head of the Math Department. During Bill's teaching career, he coached many sports including Tennis, Golf and Football. If you knew Bill, you knew his passion for the game of golf. Bill loved rating golf courses for the NCGA. Bill was an entrepreneur at heart. He owned several restaurants during his life including Sir James in Merced, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn & Reatha Burrows along with a sister, Sheila Burrows. Bill is survived by his girls, Juli (Bob) Gillett from Lodi, CA, Wicki (Jerome) Barszcz from Visalia, CA and his sister, Glenda Burrows from Lodi, CA, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A private interment will be held at Cherokee Memorial in Lodi, CA. Please join us for a Celebration of Life on March 2, 2018 at 3:00 pm at The Branding Iron Restaurant, 640 W. 16th St., Merced, CA. A memorial donation in Bill's name may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
