There is something truly special about the beer community in McMinnville. 🥂

Today, we are coming together to celebrate the incredible women shaping our industry at the SheBrew Festival!
​We are so incredibly proud of our leading lady, Lisa Allen. Seeing the passion she poured into the Italian Pils she brewed specifically for this event is inspiring—it’s crisp, beautifully balanced, and a true reflection of her talent. Make sure you grab a pour and give her a huge cheers when you see her! 🍺 (tapping soon in the taproom 🤫)

​It’s an honor to see local leaders like Jamie, the powerhouse brewer from Foreland Beer, and Becky, the owner of The Bitter Monk Taproom and Bottle Shop out here showing up in full force. Their support and dedication are what help make this community feel like home.

Silvester is the German name for New Year's Eve, named after Pope Sylvester I, whose feast day is December 31st. Silvesterbier is a rarity even in Germany. Neuwitzberg is hamlet nestled in the alps on the German-Polish border and they keep the tradition of Silvesterbier alive. It is a moderately hopped, reddish gold lager made at 15 degrees Plato with an abv around 6.5 percent. The Neuwitzberg brewers included a dark malted wheat-in violation of the Rhieheitsgebot. In 1714 the authorities investigated this violation and moved to close the offending breweries. They were saved when the Prinz-regent of Bavaria intervened as Neuwitzberger Silvesterbier was declared by the Prinz as “A totally delicious and badass Lager.” An exception was granted. Heater Allen, Gold Dot and Bierstadt Lagerhaus humbly offer our interpretation.
