Regrettably, Waterfront Grill, formerly known as Harry’s at the Harbor, is currently closed without a clear reopening date. Despite our earnest efforts to revitalize this establishment and meet the high standards of the Adriatica Community and McKinney, Texas, the property owners unexpectedly locked our doors just before the crucial holiday season. This abrupt closure not only affects us but also impacts our dedicated staff of 20 employees who lost their jobs right before Christmas, missing out on anticipated earnings during this festive period.
In our attempts to resolve this situation, our outreach to various representatives, including a conversation with Mayor George Fuller, unfortunately did not yield positive results. It's disheartening to witness the impact of decisions made without considering the livelihoods of hardworking individuals or the support of local businesses.
Like “Big Pharma”-Big Real Estate can sometimes wield its size and influence to exert undue pressure, dominate markets, and potentially engage in practices that stifle competition or disadvantage smaller players. They can leverage their power to manipulate or dictate unreasonable terms that would not allow staple businesses to survive.
We are resolute in our commitment to this business and the community it serves. We implore you to join us in seeking answers and support:
Let's inquire together:
Why can't Waterfront Grill/Harry’s at the Harbor open for the Christmas/New Year period?
What led to the sudden closure that resulted in 20 individuals losing their jobs just before the holidays?
How can we encourage support for local small businesses and prevent such closures without consultation?
