Tuesday Night Wild presents: Hillfolk Noir. Built on more than 15 years of “junkerdash” tradition, Hillfolk takes their acoustic guitar, double bass, and “anything you can find at a hardware store” sound and integrates driving drums and an electrified sound. From mountains of frontman Travis Ward’s ragged, spiral-bound notebooks this Boise, Idaho-based band tells earnest stories about the lives of lovers, law-breakers, and the lion-hearted. “If John Steinbeck owned a speakeasy,” said John Doe (X, the Knitters), “Hillfolk Noir would be the house band.”

PopUP FUn: LAST Springtime gig with KishRIFFS. Singer, songwriter, and bandleader of the local alt-rock, indie-ska band The Full Uplift, Stephen Kish is an engaging big, barrel-chested troubadour, singing original songs about the human condition: Sometimes fun and frolicky, but also cognizant of the struggles we all face in this wonderful journey, hurtling through the vast darkness and vacuum of space. He's also unearthed many classics, some eclectic B-sides, and seldom heard Pub songs on the fringe. His "Riff-acana" guitar style is based on folk/rock/fingerpicking/and Blues & Rock influences from the Golden Era of guitar heroes: altered tunings and higher soni-consciousness. "Fun guitar playing, Fast Riffs and Heavy Energy sing alongs!"
