Thanks to the Frost Shop Marketplace and all its sponsors for hosting a blood drive as part of their Christmas in July event tomorrow (Saturday, July 25) in the old Frost Shop parking lot area in downtown Mariposa. The Central California Blood Center mobile units accepts walk-ups, however, scheduling an appointment is highly encouraged to guarantee your spot and cut down your wait time. You can schedule here:

If you plan to walk up or sign up, keep these quick requirements in mind:

❤️ Bring an ID: You must present a valid physical photo ID at registration.

❤️ Pre-Screening: On the morning of the drive, you can use the Central California Blood Center QuickPass to fill out your health questionnaire online and speed up the process. https://www.donateblood.org/quickpass/

❤️ Health Basics: Ensure you eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of water within 4 hours before arriving.

Giving blood saves lives! Blood cannot be manufactured: patients facing surgeries, trauma, and cancer rely entirely on volunteer donors to survive. Thanks in advance for donating! ❤️

First, an apology.

This morning’s response to our new parking system was far beyond what we expected. So many people tried to reserve parking at once that the system crashed multiple times. Thank you for your patience. Parking sold out quickly.

For those who need accessible parking, we have two ADA spaces located immediately off Jessie Street. By law, we cannot reserve them, so they are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Gates open at 10:00 AM.

Now, something that needs to be said.

Today was a reminder that whenever someone tries to build something new in a small town, there will always be a handful of people who would rather tear it down than take five minutes to learn the facts.

To those who immediately declared Frost Shop Marketplace a “scam” without doing even the most basic research: you’ve been blocked.

Not because you disagreed. Because you chose arrogance over curiosity, accusations over facts, and insults over conversation.

We’ve spent the last two years investing our time, money, energy, and countless volunteer hours creating something we believe will benefit Mariposa. You don’t have to like it. You don’t even have to support it. But if your contribution is spreading misinformation or attacking people who are working hard to improve this community, you won’t be doing it on our page.

Going forward, our policy is simple:

* Questions? Ask them.
* Concerns? Share them respectfully.
* Ideas? We’d genuinely love to hear them.
* Want to volunteer or help make this even better? We’d be thrilled to have you.

But if your hobby is sitting on the sidelines throwing rocks at people who are actually doing the work, this isn’t the place for you.

We’re focused on building something positive for Mariposa. That takes enough energy without giving oxygen to people who confuse cynicism with wisdom.

To everyone who has supported us, encouraged us, bought parking, signed up as vendors, volunteered, or simply wished us well—thank you. You’re the reason we’re here, and we’re just getting started.

The Frost Shop Marketplace is looking for food trucks, prepared food vendors, artisans, makers, small shops, and local creatives to join our community marketplace happening 4 days a week at the Frost Shop lot.

Our goal is simple: create a welcoming space where local businesses can sell, connect, and grow together right here in our mountain community.

Flexible vendor options available. Limited spaces available for ongoing vendors.

What a weekend.

The first Mariposa Giving and Receiving Community Holiday Event wasn’t just a success — it was a testament to who we are as a community. And you made it happen.

To the Sierra Shadow Casters MC: Your Toy Drive for Mariposa Safe Families was a tremendous success, and your heart and energy elevated this entire event. Working alongside you and your volunteers was an absolute joy. Thank you for showing up so completely — I can’t wait to do it again.

To every person who organized, donated, volunteered and showed up: What we accomplished together was nothing short of miraculous.

This event came together in just a few days. Days. That’s what happens when community aligns with meaningful purpose and hearts full of love. This kind of connection transcends politics and bureaucracy — it’s the true spirit of Mariposa.
