🇺🇸 TODAY IS THE DAY — BUT FIRST, WE REMEMBER. 🇺🇸
Twenty-five years ago today, our country changed forever.
For Doc and me, September 11, 2001, is more than a date we remember. We were both wearing the uniform that day. Like so many Americans, we watched the unimaginable unfold, knowing that whatever came next, our lives, and our service had just changed.
Today we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost. We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMS, military members and ordinary Americans who stepped forward when they were needed most. We remember the families who have carried that loss for 25 years.
But we also remember September 12th.
For a brief time, we weren't divided by politics or everything else that can separate us. We were simply Americans. We flew our flag. We checked on our neighbors. We stood together. We took care of each other.
Twenty-five years later, that is something worth remembering too. 🇺🇸
And it makes today especially meaningful as we wrap up our raffle benefiting the men and women who continue to answer the call right here in our own community, our local first responders.
