🚨Domestic violience🚨
Friends, fans and family:
On Saturday we are having our monthly Drag Show, the Gender Blender.
During this month's show, we will be raising funds to donate to Reach, a local organization that supports people experiencing domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, trafficking and more in the Greater Manchester area.
After the intermission of the show (around 10pm) we will have a speaker from our community who connected us to Reach share their story and experience in a situation of domestic violence.
We are writing this post to give a proper trigger warning / content warning to anyone who plans on attending the show on Saturday.
The Gender Blender has always been a space where we ask you to show up just as you are.
There is someone willing and brave enough to speak their truth to us, and we feel that right now is a time for people to hear these stories raw and unfiltered.
Topics of violence can be triggering for many of us, and we want to give space to anyone who is not in a place to hear someone's experience of violence in such a raw way. We will have a separate space during this time for anyone who does not have the capacity to hear this story. No judgement, we always want you to put yourself first and protect your own peace 💛
There will be reminders throughout the first half of the show for anyone who doesn't see this post or anyone who might need to be told again.
