Tavernakaya a.k.a "TK" offers a unique yet familiar experience where American tavern meets Japanese izakaya, located right on the Capitol Square in downtown Madison. Owner, Michael Ding, aims to share his favorite comfort foods from his heritage and travels to Taiwan, Japan and across Asia through the Tavernakaya menu. Another main focus of TK is to bring a lively, fun and casual pub atmosphere so

you can unwind with friends and enjoy good food and drinks! Our menu and offerings vary depending on lunch or dinner service, which will include popular Asian-inspired small plates and large plates, sushi, sandwiches, rice, and noodles. To complement our food, we offer an extensive drink menu consisting of local and Asian beers, wine, sake, craft cocktails and both traditional and Japanese whiskeys.

Meet Fabiola. Fabiola has been part of the Tavernakaya team for three years as a line cook. She played a big role in making last week’s Madison Restaurant Week a success and contributes daily to the ex*****on of our dishes.

Outside of the kitchen, she appreciates life’s simple pleasures like spending time outdoors, gardening, and soaking in beautiful landscapes. We’re so grateful to have her on our team.
