The Village Tap The Village Tap is located in Lyons Wi. " Great People,Great Drinks,Great Food!!" It was then that they began leasing to various proprietors over the years.

The front door stoop and overhang have a strong resemblance of days past. “But don’t just sit there, come on in.” Around the year 1940, Fritz Schiller, along with his father Joe Schiller and a few of their relatives, built a small one-room bar at the corner of Mill Street and South Railroad Street. Fritz and his wife Anne operated the bar including serving Fish Fry every Friday nite. Lacking a d

eep fryer or kitchen in the bar area, the fish was prepared in Anne’s kitchen at their house next door and then brought back to the bar to be served to the customers. It didn’t take long to recognize the need for an enclosed walkway between the two and with in a short time, the addition to join the bar and house was completed. In the early 50’s Fritz returned to work, in the outside world, at Trent Tube in East Troy. The first being Andy Yanny during the early 50’s to late 60’s who with his family lived in a small trailer behind the bar. Next it was Virgil and Caroline Jahns working the bar. When the bar was closed, they spent their time with their grandchildren. Tom O’Brien and Gene Meister succeeded the Jahns’. Gene became a “fixture” in the community, operating the bar for 25 years. The building sat empty for six years until such time Fritz’s Granddaughter, Chris Campbell, purchased the building in 2001, remodeled it and opened in 2002. Today, Village Tap continues the tradition of serving Friday Nite fish fry and has added pizza, burgers and other items to the menu. Every night has something different to offer in the way of activities; billiards, horseshoe and dart leagues, Friday night Karaoke, Poker runs for motorcycle enthusiasts and NASCAR Sunday for racing fans. Chris, an honorary member of the Lyons Lions, welcomes and supports Lion fundraising events.
