Ready, set, here we go!! 🎉

Phase 1 completed ✅
Last night, the Louisville City Council APPROVED the Grain Elevator project!

Phase 2 will be a more exciting process to follow along as we get shovels in the ground and share images of the renovations. So stick with us, because the fun is just getting started! (More cowbell, please)

Hey let’s get this project back on track!

Rehabilitation of the grain elevator began over a decade ago. But turns out, it takes a lot of effort to save a 120-year-old building!

Literally starting from the ground up, crucial foundation work stabilized the building to began the renovation process. You can see how the concrete structures replaced rotting wood.

Preserving this historical building will take a lot more hard work and dedication. But creating a unique community gathering space is a no brainer.

So let’s go!

No watch parties. No giveaways. But…we’re getting closer.

Construction is still ahead of us, AND we’re hoping to have our outdoor space open by fall. In the meantime, we’re busy designing the ultimate spot to gather, cheer, and celebrate all our local teams!

We are so grateful for the full support granted by the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission to the building owners.

A big thank you to our community for showing up in a huge way last night! The public comment was inspiring. ✨

So much more to do, but we are one step closer. Let’s go!!

Saving the grain elevator building was just the beginning. Preserving its unique character and opening it back up to the public is the obvious next chapter in its history.

We are so excited for the upcoming Historic Preservation Committee tomorrow!

The next big step in the process is coming up!

The building owners are preparing to meet with the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission (HPC)
on February 23, 2026 at 6:30pm.

So much work has gone into saving the grain elevator. We’re looking forward to seeing what the HPC can do to help bring the it back to life.

In 1957, the Louisville Grain Elevator caught on fire🔥 A very risky act of bravery saved the building from destruction, but it has never been occupied since. Nearly 70 years vacant!

What exactly happened? Some accounts say the fire started on the outer walls by careless kids. Some say it started by spontaneous combustion. Regardless, the building was saved in a feat of true courage by local volunteer firefighters, Herb Steinbaugh and Tommy Cable, climbing up onto the roof to spray water on the tower section.

Because grain is extremely combustable, most of the country’s historic wooden grain elevators have burnt down. So Louisville’s grain elevator is not only a cherished icon of the town’s economic history, it is also a very rare agricultural and architectural relic.

The Grain Elevator might just be the most historic commercial building in Louisville 👀

LET’S GO, BRONCOS!!!! 🏈

It’s been 10 years since the Broncos hosted a playoff game. That’s about how long we’ve been working on this new concept! 👀

As life-long fans, we are so excited about this whole season and the playoff run we’re about to go on.

We would like to invite everyone to come to an amazing watch party at the Grain Yard, BUT we don’t have power, water, internet, tvs, cable subscriptions, a liquor license, employees, chairs, tables, food, drinks, or bathrooms. So, in the meantime, we hope to see you at or .louisville or your living room (thanks for the invite) as we gather to celebrate our beloved Broncos.
