Congratulations to our 2026 Friend of Shelby Park recipient, Mariah Powell. Mariah has been a force for good in the community she grew up in and a huge part of what makes our Pumpkin Patch such a special event for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Mariah and our neighborhood at our annual Compassionate Neighbor Breakfast! Between the breakfast and the neighborhood cleanup, it was a great day for our community.

Thanks as well to Full Stop Station for the free coffee, Councilman JP Lyninger’s office for sponsoring Sweet Colada, and the Old Louisville Flower Studio & Events for the beautiful displays.

🚧 Construction Update from the Louisville Water Company 🚧

Pipe replacement work along Oak Street is progressing. The active construction zone is in the intersection of Oak and Jackson Street. The intersection is closed during construction, and traffic on Jackson and Oak will be detoured. We expect the intersection to remain closed for approximately 2 weeks.

See the map below for the location of the construction zone and the impacted streets.

Local access will always be available for residents and businesses impacted by road closures and detours. Please follow posted signage as local access may change based on the location of our active construction zone. Signs will be posted directing local traffic during the construction. On-street parking will be impacted in and around our active construction zone.

More information about the project can be found at: https://louisvillewater.com/oakstreetproject/

From the Department of Codes and Regulations:

As the colder months approach, vacant properties in our neighborhoods face a higher risk of crime, fires, break-ins, and other safety hazards. Unsecured buildings can threaten the safety of our entire community. The Department of Codes and Regulations urges residents and property owners to act now so we can protect our community together.

Property owners are required to keep vacant properties clean and secure to prevent emergencies and stay compliant with city codes. Taking proactive steps now helps avoid costly incidents and keeps everyone safer as temperatures drop.

If you have concerns regarding a vacant or abandoned property, or require guidance in securing your own, please contact our office at (502) 574-2508. Your help plays a vital role in maintaining safe and healthy neighborhoods throughout the winter season.

Let's join forces to freeze out fire risk and protect our community––your action matters!
