Hello LHS Class of 1984 classmates.

Happy 4th of July. We are just now inside of 90 days until our 40th Re-Union and I wanted to reach out with a brief update.

Our plans for attending the Homecoming Football Game followed by a mixer at the Town Tavern, on 9/27/24, remain unchanged. Same goes for optional golf on Saturday morning and the main Re-Union at Unhitched Brewing on Saturday night.

We will have a block of tickets to the football game that can be purchased directly through the athletic department ticket office, but we ask that you wait until the new school year resumes before contacting them.

For those wanting to golf, Brian Mathie has reserved 4 tee times on Saturday morning at, Pleasant View Golf Club, beginning at 8:30am. Each tee time can accommodate a foursome...so we have room for 16 golfers right now, buy we can add more as needed. If you would like to play, reach out to Brian directly as he is running point on the golf.

Again, other than the football game, there are no tickets required to attend any re-union event/activity, although RSVP's are always appreciated. (I have heard from some of you already, so thank you.)

Some food/appetizers will be provided at Unhitched, but otherwise, just show up and pay your own tab or golf fees, etc..

Our goal is to simply have as large a turnout as possible, so, we hope you will try to attend...as time moves quickly and will soon make us old.

But, damn it, we're not old yet so I hope to see the usual suspects doing the usual things...plus a few more. 🙂

As always, please forward this to any/all classmates you can and post it in all relevant places.

And direct any questions to myself or Brian Mathie.

Thanks everybody!

Hope to see you all this Fall.

Please forward this message to any and all Louisville High Class of 1984 classmates.

The dates for our 40 year reunion (my god...) will be Friday, September 27th & Saturday, September 28th, 2024.

That is Homecoming weekend and our preliminary plans include attending the football game together on Friday (with possible tailgate party prior) and proceeding from there to a mixer, at the newly remodeled, Town Tavern, immediately following.

Then, on Saturday, we are planning golf, for those that want to play, in the morning followed by our main Reunion festivities at Unhitched Brewing (in their Palmer Room), starting at 6pm.

There are no tickets or reservations needed for the Town Tavern mixer or the Unhitched reunion events...just show up and pay your own bar tab. There will be some food/appetizers provided at Unhitched, courtesy of our very limited class fund 🙂, and donations will be accepted all weekend for future reunions.

There will also be a special beer/cocktail menu and possibly...possibly an '80's DJ at the Town Tavern event.

Obviously, as we get closer, we will need a head count for golf and the football game tickets...and RSVP's, in general, are always welcome and help us plan.

That is about all for now.

Please direct any questions to me or Brian Mathie, as they arise...we probably won't have any answers, but feel free to ask anyway. 🙂

Thanks for reading and looking forward to seeing everyone again in September.

Hello Everybody...just a quick update.

I stopped by Unhitched today to work out a few more details for our re-union. They have been super busy since opening...2,500 people thru last week alone.

Given that fact, they will be unable to close the entire place for us (they could do it but the mandatory minimums on food and drink would be far beyond what we have to spend). However, we will have a designated area reserved for us that should hopefully work out nicely, as well as some dedicated wait staff to tend to our needs. I will use the money in our class account to purchase light appetizers throughout the evening so some food/munchies will be provided. Otherwise, cash bar and you are free to order off their regular menu should you desire.

They wanted me to mention that although our event runs 7-11pm, they have last call for food at 9:30 and drinks at 10pm. Finally, remember, it is a free event so I hope to see as many classmates and old friends as possible on 11/30/19. Thanks.

In case you missed the previous post from Mark on the date change, here it is!! Please share this with anyone you have contact with from our class - through Facebook, email, instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, running into them at the grocery store, US mail, phone calls, texts, or by telling their parents and family members to let them know. Let’s have a great turnout and a fun evening!!

Quick update everybody...due to construction delays at Unhitched Brewery that may impact the previous dates for our 35th Re-Union, we have decided to move our event back a few weeks to Saturday, November 30th, 2019...same location...the new Unhitched Brewery (formerly Louisville Bowl) from 7p-11pm. This is the Saturday after Thanksgiving and we hope that many classmates will be in town already visiting family and friends. Additionally, it will be a free event...all you need to do is show up and have fun. However, for planning, we would like to get a head count in advance if possible so, look for an event page in the coming weeks where you can RSVP and please make every classmate you know aware of the event and the date change. Thanks!

Here is the latest update from Mark on information from Unhitched Brewing for our reunion on Saturday, November 30.

Seems like Adam from Unhitched is a good guy and excited to work with us on it...see below...
Hi Mark – Nov 30 is confirmed from 7-11. We hope you can get as close to 100 as possible as we are closing the bar for the class of 84. We can work out the food/drink details. We will have our beers, wine, and some craft cocktails. We can see if you want any basic cocktails too. Again, we will figure it out. We can setup music to play all of your favorite 80s hits 😊 Looking forward to sharing some beers with you guys.
