AIGALou is honoring Black History Month this year by highlighting the final days of February, especially since we have an extra day to celebrate with Leap Day! We are posting some inspirational words said by some talented, strong, black designers in our community. Meet Bryan! Bryan is an owner of Blue Beak Branding.

“I’m a creative professional who's passionate about brand identity and as a freelancer, I've successfully performed many design roles, apart of various projects. I've dedicated 25 years to visual creation. 18 of those years dedicated to graphic design, digital illustration, and web layout specifically. Mostly freelance and Startups. I've also managed, directed, and have a highlight reel in sales.
While working as a freelancer provides many perks, I am looking to continue working with talented designers and a team to create impressive collateral. I enjoy seeing my teammates on a daily basis and having face to face contact in order to meet clients' needs and want to make a long term creative impact on a company.”
Here are some additional words of wisdom shared by Bryan:
“Stay connected! Many of us are artists, are introverted, and the biggest benefit of being a student is community and peers.Everyone has something to offer, find strong complementary styles and skill sets and build. Trust me, being a ‘solopreneur’ is overrated. The goal is to scale.
I grew up in West Louisville with parents that never owned a home or had a successful career. I love them and no one has perfect parents; but these details created their own challenges. I made it a priority to not become a product of my environment and learning where to dedicate the time and energy. While being African American, while being a creative.”
Stay tuned for some other featured designers in our community, we’re highlighting a new person every day until March!
