Our Story
Neighborhood Bar and Grill The Back Door Bar & Grille is located at 1250 Bardstown Road, adjacent to the Mid City Mall in the heart of the picturesque Highlands neighborhood in Louisville.
As a reviewer in LEO noted, the Back Door is "one of Louisville’s favorite after-work, meet–my-friends, meet-strangers, game-of-pool, order-of-wings, one-more-stop-before-home watering holes."
The 5,000-square-foot bar and lounge previously served as a warehousing and storage facility for the nearby A&P Grocery. The patio area was a loading and unloading dock for the store. Our establishment is open seven days a week from 4 p.m. until 4 a.m., 1pm till 4am on Saturday and Sunday and is strictly a "21 and over" bar. ID's are checked.
The owners and employees take great pride in the Back Door's reputation of being one of the friendliest bars in Louisville. Long-time customers, newcomers and out-of-town visitors can relax and mingle in a casual and cordial atmosphere.
