WHO WE ARE: U21 has nearly 50 members who host Open Mic Nights each month during the school year to feature the talents of LG teens. Over 90 teens attended U21's last event. U21's mission is to provide a teen night club and forum for LG teens to party and hang out with friends in a drug/alcohol free environment that supports the arts, music and talents of teens in our community. EVENT LOCATIONS/DATES: Open Mic Nights are held at LG Coffee Roasting Co or Los Gatos Recreation. See Event Calendar for upcoming events. Live entertainment includes: singers, musicians, comedians, poets, bands, etc. Everyone under 21 is welcome to come! NO ADULTS ALLOWED. Cover fee: $5 includes pizza, cookies and water. Teens under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be admitted or will be asked to leave. SPONSORS: U21 is an official student club of Los Gatos High School, sponsored by CASA (Community Against Substance Abuse) and KCAT TV and funded in part by donations from local businesses and Los Gatos Arts Commission.Sharonrose Cannistraci is CASA's Chair of U21. Membership meetings are held a couple of Tuesdays a month during lunch in Mr. Clark's classroom. Meetings announced via emai and morning announcements. NEW MEMBERS: Send Kirsten an email at [email protected] if you want to become a member of U21 or be added to U21's email list and subgroup on FB for all of the internal club activities. COMMUNITY SERVICE: Members receive volunteer community service hours for attending meetings to prepare for events and for working open mic events (set up, strike, etc).
