Everyone knows about the Eclipse. But how many people understand Orion on the Celestial Equator ?

When a planet is terraformed by the gods they can choose what will be shown on the Celestial Equator. And it will act as the prime time tv channel in the night sky that everyone can see.

This is done by creating a axial tilt. The fine tuning of the tilt acts like the tuning dial on the radio. Keep adjusting it until you reach your desired image.

Our Celestial Equator is tuned to show Orion Hunter spoken of in Homers Iliad. The Alpha to Omega of our existence. Sumerians believed Orion was tuned into our sky to tell the Epic of Gilgamesh.

Out of Earth's entire 4.5-billion-year existence, a randomly selected moment in our planet's history has roughly a 6.7% chance (or about 1 in 15 odds) of occurring during an epoch where both total solar eclipses are possible and Orion is actively aligned with the celestial equator.

We happen to be sitting right inside that narrow 6.7% slice of cosmic history where both phenomena overlap!

The 2026 Draconid meteor shower peaks on the night of Thursday, October 8th, into the early morning of Friday, October 9th.

The shower peaks with the best viewing in North America starting at 6:00 p.m. PDT (9:00 p.m. EDT) as darkness falls. The Moon is in the dark phase, so the conditions for viewing should mostly be favorable. To find the radiant point, look overhead for Draco's crest in the space between the bright star Vega, in Lyra, and the Big Dipper, in Ursa Major.

Active annually from October 6th–10th, this display of shooting stars occurs as Earth crosses the trail of dust and debris following behind Comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner as it chases after the Sun.
