So I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty sure I still have a lingering, holiday hangover. And writing y’all on the first holiday weekend after the new year, definitely reinforces this confusing feeling.
Don’t get me wrong, I love & righteously appreciate that the first, major US holiday on the annual calendar, just so “happens”to honor the late, greater-than-great MLK! His life’s work and message need to be freshly heard again, and lived out even MORE passionately in these violent times we sadly find ourselves together in.
But I too have a dream. And it was spawned by my personal nightmare of 2023’s first two weeks (more on that later)…and the dream is this: Can we pleeease get a do-over on this year?? Please?!?
Well, believe it or not, the answer is YES. And not just for me, but for anyone else who feels similarly…as well as what’s simply matter-of-fact for over 1/4 of the entire world’s population! The reason is that next week, beginning on Sunday, January 22nd, marks the start of the ! And I’m happy and happen to be playing my first Los Angeles live show of the year on THAT NIGHT!! Aaand at the legendary , to boot!
So wear your tux. Or that dress you bought for the party you were better off NOT going to. Hell, wear those glasses with the numbers on ‘em & pick any year you love…or for the last NYE party where you actually had fun. I know that me and the boys will aim to at least party like it’s 2019…because the spirit is the point! And you already know our band energy and DJ’s got yo funky soul covered, to ring in the Year of The Silly Wabbit!
And also please note, we are no longer just doin the late shift. is now rockin like Lionel, ALL.NIGHT.LONG!! Doors open at 6:30PM, and we got 2 sets after that. Where the after-hours go from there are completely up to you! So now get ready to get in on , bring your dancing shoes & getDown! Excited to ring in with you and yours, and hope you are too!
