🚨Redwood Bar 20th Anniversary Show Series 🚨
Two decades of great music, cold drinks, and Downtown LA nights. The Redwood 20th Anniversary Show Series continues with the Official After Party for The Palomino — a film by Mule Kick celebrating the legendary North Hollywood club that was the beating heart of California Country from 1949 to 1995 !!!
Wednesday, June 17 · 10PM · Free Admission !!!!!
Featuring two living legends of the scene: Rosie Flores , a pioneer of the cowpunk movement and the first Latina to crack Billboard’s country chart — a 2024 NEA National Heritage Fellow honored for six decades of devotion to American roots-rock music — and James Intveld who first honed his craft as a teenager entering talent contests at the Palomino Club itself.
During the cowpunk movement of the ‘80s, Intveld was working the same clubs as Dwight Yoakam and Rosie Flores — and tonight, those two old friends share the stage again !!!
The night also features an incredible lineup of special guests thanks to — Tony Booth, Ronee Blakley, John Jorgenson, Chip Kinman, Jeff Ross, Dave Stuckey, Mustangs of the West, Bryson Jones, Nocona, KP Hawthorn, Dusty Wakeman, Matt Axton, Alice Wallace, and John Surge — with The H***y Tonk Palominos (Lorne Rall, Kip Dabbs, Bob Gothar & Marty Rifkin) holding down the groove all night long.
This is a room full of people who lived it — and tonight they’re bringing it back !!
Free admission. Tip jar for the band — bring a few bucks and make it count. 316 W. 2nd St., Downtown LA.
Twenty years of the Redwood. One night that honors the venue that made it all possible. This is more than an after party — it’s a celebration of California Country, past and present !!
