Poetry & Story-Telling Open Mic ft. Local Author Amanda J was so much fun tonight! We heard poems from a couple of community members, and Author Amanda J Paulson read some spicy selections from her recently released book, Girl Anthology. (Pick up a copy at Tippitiwichit!)

Somehow poetry reading turned into an impromptu karaoke session, and these ladies had everyone in the building singing along!

Curious what "Tippitiwichit" means?

Tippitiwichit is a slang term for a Venus Fly Trap. These unique plants are native to a very small part of the world, and Loris is lucky enough to be within that range!

So what's special about them? They eat bugs! They'll eat flies, gnats, bees, and pretty much anything else unlucky enough to make its way into the tippitiwichit's trap.

We now have baby tippitiwichits in store. Buy one to keep in a bright window inside or buy a few and start your very own bog garden!

Who's coming to Story Club tonight??

Using randomized prompts to fill in the blanks and introduce new people, places, and things, we'll write a short story as a group. Will it be a comedy or a thriller? Will it be a tear-jerker or a feel-good beach read? Will it be rated PG or make us blush? These are things the group will decide as they write the story tonight from 6-8pm!

Tonight's starter prompt: "Evelyn is smart, beautiful, and successful. People say she's the luckiest girl in town. Only (blank) knows why she sleeps alone at night."
