Well, same gang. Same rock & roll heart. New name.

Meet The Low Horses.

And this Saturday night, they come riding back into Speak of the Devil.

Last time these guys were here, the room got a little loose around the edges — that wonderful collision of roots, rockabilly, blues, and straight-up rock & roll that makes you order another drink, stay another hour and completely forget that thing you thought you were doing later.

We had a hell of a time.

Okay, so apparently we’re really doing this.

On Wednesday, September 30th, Speak of the Devil becomes a fashion runway.

Sure. Why the hell not.

Our friends Erik Anderson, Johá Harris and Jevon Terance — three guys who actually understand fashion — are taking over the joint for FASHION FRONT ROW @ 5TH & BROADWAY.

And somehow, somebody decided the models should be...good God...

our staff.

Yes. The same collection of bartenders, servers, and assorted Devil people you normally see shaking drinks, hauling ice, washing glassware, and running around this place like lunatics on a Saturday night.

They’re going to make us fashionable?!

Godspeed, gentlemen.

But seriously, this is going to be a ridiculously fun night. Three incredibly talented Lorain guys showing off what they do, our crew getting to strut around like they own the damn place — which, frankly, they already do — and all of it happening right here at 5th & Broadway.

Hey, it’s Sunday.

We’re here at 3pm, Wyatt’s behind the bar today, and we’ve got a whole afternoon and evening ahead of us.

No big production. Just a good Sunday at the bar — cocktails, some chill music, and a people hanging out because, well, that’s what bars are for.

And a reminder to all of our bar and restaurant folks: Sunday is Industry Sunday, which means 20% off your tab. If you’re industry and we don’t know you yet, just introduce yourself. Easy as that.

Tonight, we’re going 5 to 9.

Yep, we’re OPEN — just a few less hours. Come see us anytime from 5pm–9pm, then we’re closing the doors for a private wedding event.

Four hours. Plenty of time to get into a little trouble.

Okay folks, we’ve got some slightly wonky hours tomorrow night, so here’s a little FYI for your Saturday planning…

We’ll be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC from 5pm–9pm, doing all the usual Speak of the Devil things.

Then at 9pm, we’re handing the joint over to a private wedding party and will be closed to the public for the rest of the night.

So come see us early, have a cocktail or two, and then at 9pm we’ll politely shove you out the door so somebody can celebrate getting married.

Summer apparently got the memo that it was supposed to leave, and just ignored it. Which is okay by us!

So this weekend, Wyatt decided to let summer and fall have one last little fling in a glass.

Meet PAGING MR. BIRD.

Silver cachaça. Amaro Montenegro. Fresh lime. Passion fruit. Honey.

Bright, tropical, tart and juicy up front, with that gorgeous bittersweet Montenegro sneaking in underneath and honey rounding the whole damn thing out.

It tastes a little like September wearing a Hawaiian shirt.

And, friends, this one is a weekend special — which means you can absolutely tell yourself you’ll get around to trying it later.

You just might be telling yourself that while it’s gone.

Just a little reminder for the readers among us…

Tomorrow night, our friends from the Lorain Public Library will wander over to the bar for another meeting of Books & Brews.

This month we’re talking about Xavier Navarro Aquino’s "Velorio: A Novel" — a beautiful, strange, and haunting book set in Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

We’ll gather at 6:30pm, grab a drink, pull up a chair, and see where the conversation takes us.
