It was a very busy weekend for Post 30's Youth Services and Community Outreach! Friday, our amazing Youth Volunteers had a formal meeting at the Post, followed by a hangout and some volleyball at Lakeview Beach (Lorain County Metro Parks).
Saturday, some of our volunteers supported the Teen Summit by the Lorain Police Department before attending the Thrilla at the Villa by Legacy Boxing Club Lorain.
Sunday, some of our group (special thanks to John and Ashley McNeeley for bringing your whole family to help) retrieved the Memorial Day flags from Elmwood Cemetery that had been placed by LHS Titans JROTC Cadets the Friday before Memorial Day before enjoying some time socializing and playing a couple board games.
Ultimately, we ended May with over 140 hours of volunteer service, participation and support of at least 20 events, and a lot of fun! In our efforts to support and empower youth in both civic and community engagement, we also strive to ensure a healthy balance in activities and to connect our young people with new experiences, businesses, and business owners to strengthen their connection to our community.
