Anable Basin Sailing Bar and Grill has been cleaning the 44th Drive Pier since the pier opened. The New York City Department of Parks & Recreation provided one garbage can, which was sufficient for a while. Once the pier became more popular, we added more garbage cans because one was no longer enough to prevent garbage overflow.

We make sure that the cans are emptied multiple times a day. Besides, we pick up leftover garbage every day. We are glad to say that a part of 44 Drive and the pier are kept very clean to this day.

In the last year or so, groups of people would use the pier as a gathering location to play loud music and party after hours. With the Covid-19 crises, occasional get-togethers became an almost nightly event. We do not have any control over these crowds or loud music, mainly because the gatherings happen after we close our restaurant.

We are aware that similar events happen throughout the city.

Keeping our guests, neighbors, and community in mind, we are working on finding an acceptable solution to all parties for this issue.
