As some of you may know, there is a post going around claiming that we are transphobic due to an incident that happened here last night. Please remember there are two sides to every story.
First off, EVERYONE is welcomed at the Mineshaft.
And EVERYONE is treated equally at the Mineshaft.
This was never a transgender issue. It became one when someone who broke our rules turned out to be transgender and decided to use it as a weapon to justify them ignoring our rules we set for everyone.
The issue was someone was blocking the door to our public bathrooms that have a large sign asking to please not hold the door and it states that if anyone prefers a private locking bathroom, it is provided a mere three feet to your right.
The person making these claims even says in her video she saw the sign but in her words “It wasn’t enough”
My staff had no idea the person not following those rules was transgendered. It was not a factor in who was breaking the rules we set for the restrooms. We are a safe space for any and everyone and those of you who instantly condemn us and make false claims about our character while only hearing one side of the story are the ones that should be ashamed of yourselves. If there was an issue of how it was handled then I can address that. But to be clear, this had nothing to do with the gender of the person who broke the rules.
