What does Religious Studies have to do with brewing b**r? Apparently, quite a bit. 🍻
Meet CSUF HSS alum Ian McCall, who turned his passion for brewing into ISM Brewing, an award-winning brewery in downtown Long Beach.
But his Religious Studies degree still plays a role in his work today. From managing employees to creating a welcoming space for his community, Ian credits his HSS education with teaching him the importance of understanding people.
And here’s a fun fact: The “-ism” in ISM Brewing is actually a nod to his Religious Studies background.
Check out ISM Brewing & Kitchen and Ian McCall , and head to the link in our bio to read Ian’s full story.

It’s A͒̒̉͗͗L̐̍̉ͣĪ̐͗V̄ͣ̉̍E̿̋ͥ͗̉!!!! 👹 our Burger of the Month, the Frankenbergher, is a hideous, monstrous, delicious 1/3-lb flame grilled house beef patty stacked with melted Swiss, tangy sauerkraut, house-made curry ketchup, and house b**r mustard. Finished with a tangle of mini bratwurst links spilling out of our house-made pretzel bun.
