Handmade cutlery, knife repair and sharpening, leather sheaths

Hi folks! I have been producing knives since 1990, one-at-a-time and from a variety of steels and handle materials. I make my knives via the “stock-removal” method and everything begins as bar stock and a concept. I use steels such as cpm 154 stainless, O1 oil-hardening tool stock, and D2 which is an air-hardening grade which is fairly corrosion-resistant and considered by many to be the “ultimate blade steel”. I make knives primarily for hunters and people who fish, but will work with a customer to create something custom.

Scroll down below the following photos for more information.

I use several different materials for handles such as various types of antler, bone, wood, micarta and G-10. I will consider other materials for handles provided they are a practical choice and are not of any “banned” material such as Ivory.

I also offer knife repair and sharpening. Have a knife that has seen better days? Let me see if I can restore some of the original beauty and usefulness that it had when new. I offer blade regrinding to repair a damaged tip or cutting edge, folding knife “tightening”, and replacement sheaths. Have a great old knife with a cracked or broken handle? Give me a call and let’s talk about it. If your knife sheath is on its last legs I can easily produce a sheath that will protect your knife, and protect you from the knife. I craft sheaths from 8-10 oz. vegetable-tanned saddle leather and stitch them with heavy bonded polyester thread..it is tough stuff!
