I decided that this quilt needs a purpose. It will sit on my dining table for a while for me to enjoy. It doesn't match a thing in my house but I'm not concerned with that.
I'll purchase a clear plastic table cover to protect it

Ok, I'm obsessed! I added a little fringe (for lack of a better word) on the zipper pull. I see making more of these in the near future. Fun fun fun!

Sometimes when you have something on your mind you just have to stop and do it. I thought of this bag all weekend. No pattern, just a thought in my head. I like how it turned out.

This was such a fun project! Vicki B. and I have been talking about this quilt for quite a while, maybe 10 years. She started piecing the buildings way back then. As it progressed, we discussed how she wanted it quilted. It has some family history. Each row depicts a time of day and a particular city. Top row is Dallas, sunrise with the Reunion Tower stitched in the background. Middle row is Seattle, mid-day with the Space Needle and rain clouds stitched in background. Bottom row is St. Louis, nighttime with the Gateway Arch stitched with moon and stars in the background.
I love quilts that tell a story! Seeing it in person is so much better. Vicki will get to see it in person at the end of next week.

This came up in my memories today. I remember it took 2 tries to get it right. I even went to a paper piecing workshop to learn the technique before attempting this one. I was so proud of finishing this block!
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!

Now that the judging is complete at several shows I'm getting caught up on postings.
This interestingly beautiful octopus quilt, paper pieced by Leah Lutonsky, won a white ribbon at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo show.
This quilt was challenging but fun to work with.
Thank you to Wasatch Quilting designs with helping us by creating the designs that were used in this quilt. It was like putting a puzzle together. Each piece had to be placed just right
