Well!
The new bakery is done and already doing its job!... Yay! Our Summer of making nothing but sourdough bread has not only been exciting for us, hopefully it has been satisfying for all of you as well.
Our good friends at A Pinch of Happiness Spice Shop as well as our new friends at Farris Fruit Market Fruit Market and J & T Country Store and Greenhouse on the west side have been awesome helping us get our bread out to you. We look forward to continuing to supply our bread to you at all of their locations until the markets close for the year.
Pinch of Happiness Spice Shop will carry our bread year-round and you will be able to find exclusive loaves through the winter season at their location.
Along that line, many have already asked if our bread will be available this winter, and the happy news is... Yes!! Not only will it be available, we are reopening the Stude-A-Baker's location on Historic Camdenton Square. During the winter months you will be able to come in and pick up a fresh boule or an inclusion loaf. You may also order custom boules in a variety of flavors. Once the markets open back up you will again be able to find our fresh sourdough bread and exclusive to their locations only, special inclusion boules.
In the store, we will be adding other bread products such as sourdough Bagels and English muffins which will be prepared daily and we are eyeballing fresh sourdough donuts on Saturday mornings (no solid commitment from Mr donut maker yet). There will be some other changes at the Stude-A-baker's location from our previous setup, as well. Namely we have removed the bar and in its place have a very exciting new "Local Businesses Only" concept coming in. We will be building it up as we move into the Fall. More on that in the coming weeks.
We are also discontinuing table service in order to facilitate our new menu which will consist of brand new items that we have been working hard on, as well as the old favorites. However, don't worry about not being able to get comfortable and enjoy the atmosphere, there will be plenty of places to sit and enjoy yourself and plenty of smiles to go around. The bonus.. no tipping... Lol
Also, we have taken out the fountain soda and will be offering a large selection of reasonably priced canned and bottled beverages in its place. The reason for these changes boils down to the customer experience and a better understanding of what Camdenton actually needs.. not just what we think it needs. There's plenty of bars and few places to eat if you have health concerns.
Speaking of health concerns, the most important part is this 😉... We will now be offering...
*Drum roll please*
**** Buttermilk Sourdough Fried Chicken and sourdough Belgian waffles!! ****
As healthy as we can make it... Swear!!! Lol
Also new to the menu will be items such as a carefully considered red beans and rice, a new mac and cheese that we think beats our old Burnie Mac, fried potatoes and gravy that go amazingly well with that chicken... As well as an amazing new pasta salad as well as other tummy friendly sides.
The White Chicken Chili and a rotating seasonal soup will also be available.
***We will also have two new vegetarian and vegan sandwiches as well as sides!***
And, we have added a dedicated fryer to keep proteins from mixing in some of our offerings, which means approximately half our menu will be Alpha Gal friendly as well. And absolutely no beef until those people quit losing their minds... Seriously! *** we are hoping in the near future to bring the burgers and brisket back, but what we have to spend on quality beef products does not line up with what we think is reasonable to charge for someone to have lunch.
So... Our goal is to open up to the public one week from today, providing we clear all of our final inspections (and now that the heat is behind us and we can convince Mick to actually go outside and hang the Stude-A-Baker's sign). Once you see those dazzling lights on, come on in and check us out and see if you like what we have done.
Again, we are committed to bringing you the healthiest food that's kind of fast. Don't get us wrong... we're not making our own cheese here but we are going as far back in the food supply chain as we can and cooking from scratch as much as possible so we know what's in the food. Look for more information about our cooking practices and ingredients when you visit us.
We are grateful to be a part of this community and look forward to serving our old friends and making new one's and making more tummies happy.
