Presale tickets for tomorrow evening's show with Hair Force One ends at 10pm tonight. Otherwise you can buy individual tickets starting at 5pm for $30 each at the door. We are not seating anyone other than ticket holders.
Our celebrated Okto'bear'fest Märzen is appropriately launching on Thursday as the actual Oktoberfest in Munich begins on Saturday. It will be available in cans and on draft starting Thursday at 4pm.
Team Trivia this week will continue its winning ways - and we have a new concept round this week that will test a barren part of your cranium.
In addition to these events going on in Lewistown, we'll be serving beer at the McClure Bean Soup next to the stage on Friday night for The Badlees and Saturday night for Bella Donna. Plus we'll be serving beer at the Wine'd Down at Sundown event at the Banty Rooster in Lewisburg on Friday night.

We all are likely still recovering from this past weekend but I would be remiss if I didn't announce that only a few tables remain for this Wednesday's show with Hair Force One. We also have launched the ability to purchase individual tickets so whichever sells out faster is our MO. If you do buy individual tickets you'll be seated at a communal table with others.

Another fun filled week is about here - in addition to the return of RCB tonight for the umpteenth time, we have Shine Delphi performing for the 1st time on Saturday. The Big Band Sound on Sunday always draws a big crowd.

I didn't want to jinx it by posting the launch of this beer prior to the game but the Nittany Lions looked incredibly prepared for the new era yesterday. So, if you're traveling back home and you're passing through our nape of the way, be sure to enjoy this wonderful New Zealand style IPA....and if you plan to visit on the early side (until 1pm) these new fluffy blueberry, lemon and ricotta pancakes for Sunday Brunch is just what the doctor ordered.
Or swing by later in the day to catch the live music of Chuck Darwin & The Knuckle-Draggers at 4pm along with a Ploughman Cider promotion of their Cherrybyrd which is 6.6% ABV and made with Winter Banana apples, Wickson crabapples, and Montmorency cherries. Notes of bright red fruit (cherry, strawberry, cranberry) with a tart, green apple-like finish. In addition, we're also featuring their Dornick which is an American dry cider born of bold, robust apples, offering aromas of strawberry, butterscotch, and autumn leaves.

The stage awaits two events today in celebration of those passing through the area for Labor Day festivities or the PSU football game (and this photo may not be mutually exclusive). At 2pm we have Trivia with Ffej where basic music trivia is left in the dust...and then as most of you know, Ffej is also an astounding drummer so we'll see if we can convince him to stick around for Honey Pie at 6pm and he'll sit in on a tune or two.
The new food and drink menu is getting great feedback and I'll highlight individual items as I go. Not playing favorites, if possible, but this "Schnitz' Creek" veal schnitzel pretzel roll sandwich is the cat's pajamas.

Now that it's officially September, Goose Day is only weeks away and we are hosting the Stable Shakers that Tuesday night for a special Grateful Dead tribute and the Juniata River Valley Visitors Bureau is co-sponsoring the event. The first PSU football is Saturday so we're gearing up for the frenzy that passes through. So, is it the best time to launch a new food and drink menu? Only time will tell but we say, "Why Not?!" plus we have these events slated this week. I'll post the new beer and drink menus tomorrow but I wanted to at least tempt your taste buds with the return of our poutine (but with a revamped smoked ham hock gravy), the Weisnhendl Salad, Crunch-a-ritto vegan wrap and chorizo tacos. Plus the German inspired dishes will be around for the next couple of months like the Brat Pack and Schnitz' Creek sandwich. You'll also see a variety of brand new options like the Potsticker & Confit Tomato Salad, Mortadella Fitzgerald, Oyster Rockefeller and Vegan flatbreads. The M3 Salmon tacos and bowl is sure to be a crowd variety and of course the chicken parm quesadilla has its photo next to "comfort food" in the dictionary.

Tonight's show with Van Wirsing - Van Halen Tribute has been sold out for quite awhile and we're really looking forward to it.
If you did buy a table, look out for the detailed directions for tonight via email.
Otherwise for everyone else looking to come to Shy Bear this evening, if you arrive when we open at 4pm we can get you seated outside as long as you're out by 6pm. Or we will have limited seating inside in the taproom throughout the night but we have a strict no general admission / random standing around policy for watching the show from the sidelines.
