Join Post 17 on October 2 for cheesesteaks and live music by The Senatones!

The American Legion in Lewes is open to the public, and there is no charge for admission. October 2nd is First Friday and that means cheesesteak night! Plus, there is a bar with reasonably priced drinks. It's a simple yet very nice venue, with an outdoor covered pavilion with a large bar, many tables and a nice sized dance floor. Everything you need for a good party! Bring your dancing shoes!

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 17 is supporting recently deployed troops from Dover Air Force Base by collecting requested comfort, hygiene, food, and recreational items. Members can donate items at Post 17, shop from the Amazon list, give through Zeffy, or make a monetary donation at the bar.

Requested items range from full-size toiletries, laundry pods, over-the-counter medications, protein bars, electrolytes, coffee, snacks, and shelf-stable meals to office supplies, soccer balls, footballs, and frisbees. Please review the accompanying list carefully, as some items cannot be accepted for shipping overseas.

Every donation—large or small—helps provide a little comfort and connection from home to our deployed service members.
