It has come to my attention through various acquaintances that Phat Paddy’s made a statement regarding their establishment not being a 21+ upstairs venue, emphasizing they are family-owned and grounded in moral principles. I do not interpret this as a personal attack on my moral character, and I have consistently wished them continued success.
The business plan for my family’s establishment differed from Phat Paddy’s for several reasons: 1. Our downstairs area featured a dance hall, which necessitated an adult-only environment due to the costs associated with ballroom dancing and the need for a controlled setting.
2. In consideration of another family-run business in close proximity that allows adults to consume alcohol while accompanied by minors, we deliberately chose not to compete with their model.
3. Our upstairs section was designed as a sports bar, catering to patrons who enthusiastically support their favorite teams.
4. Having witnessed numerous instances of intoxicated adults driving with children in the vehicle, I deliberately chose to prevent this scenario at our establishment.
The above decisions were rooted in moral considerations, rather than a lack thereof. Although our business model ultimately proved unsuccessful, I sincerely wish the establishments in Lebanon continued prosperity. My family and I have since relocated and are faring well. I kindly request that past matters remain in the past as I have already had my fair share of drama in 2025, and no longer wanting it to roll into 2026. And again congrats to Phat Paddy’s for obtaining their liquor license. I know it’s an incredibly time consuming process!
