Can’t post enough pics of this speakeasy that has brought us so much Joy these past 5 years! Thank you for welcoming our vision and artistry to the area! We had so much fun crafting cocktails and bringing some global small plates to our audience. What’s Happening with G&T…..
We are certainly eager to get back to serving our patrons amazing drinks and small plates, however, we still face many challenges; though we are not fans of excuses, these are just the facts. We have lost three cooks since November, as well as our regular staff that had been with us since the beginning. We are continuing to lend our staff to G&T but this allows limited availability. Please visit us as we reopen SATURDAY 4/13. If you’re in the mood for a craft cocktail before then please visit us at our other location in Ofallon. Our Mahalo Mai Tai has just been featured in the April issue of .

We know that our previous post stated that we were going to try and be open Fridays and Saturdays moving forward, but after a very slow January, we have to pivot. Our new chef will be abroad in the Philippines for two months, so Chef Talani will be back in our kitchen on some Saturdays and training more staff. Hang in there with us, the Menu will still be fantastic and unique.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR OUR GRIT clientele

Happy 2024! We are coming up on five years this year! we want to thank you all so much for the support that you have shown over the years, especially through a pandemic as well as a recent tragic loss for our G&T family. As a local, small business and restaurant, we want to do our best to pivot, and still give all of you the customer service that we’re known for. We hope when you visit you can be understanding and open to the fact that we have a new staff. I know many of you have had questions as to when others may return. They will no be returning.
Talani has trained a new chef in our kitchen so menu items and desserts may change, some staples will remain. Our mixologists from Le Ono, Our second restaurant, will be the ones helping to create our new drink menu.
We want to express our apologies in the inconsistencies of our hours lately, but with a new year, we are back to every Friday and Saturday opening at 5 PM . We promise to do our best to stick to these hours and if for some reason it doesn’t work out we will always post here and on Facebook. We look forward to seeing you soon. We look forward to a new year and a fresh take on our menus.

Our sister restaurant has been featured in Feast magazine! We are so proud of our dedicated Le Ono team and the help of our Grit and Tonic family! The G&T crew were a strong support to help us get this off the ground! We can’t thank them enough for their belief in our vision.

Le Ono is the third Illinois business from owners Lisa Udasco-Mo’e and her husband Talani Mo’e; their other ventures include a popular speakeasy and a long-running Pilates studio.
