Happy First Friday yall. Just a quick housekeeping post about our hours of operation. We're now open 7 days a week. Thursday -Saturday 7AM - 4AM and Sunday - Wednesday 7PM - 3AM. Karaoke starts nightly at 9PM. Happy Hour 7-9PM Daily *excludes special events* and Reverse Happy Hour Nightly 1-3AM Sunday - Wednesday and 2-4AM Thursday - Saturday. We're also starting a $5 cover on Friday & Saturdays that starts at 9pm. Get here early on Friday & Saturday for no cover and cheap dranks. Also we have Geeks Who Drink Trivia every Sunday 7-9PM.

We do love a good all nighter. Maybe a little too much sometimes. Huge props to the staff at ugly duckling, Las Vegas Weekly & mad crazy love to all of you for making the ugly duckling your all night karaoke home in the arts district.

TBH, I had no idea we would be getting this particular honor however the timing and synchronicity of the "all nighter" couldn't be more on the nose. I guess it's serendipity but I swear we've been planning this for months... anyway with that in mind we are proud to announce starting this week Ugly Duckling Karaoke Lounge will now be extending our hours of operation to 4am 7 days a week with daily happy hour & reverse happy hour specials for all of your Vegas all nighter appetites. So come holler at us . We ❤️ you all.

So fu***ng bummed about canceling tonight. Easily one of my favorite most listened to bands of the last decade. It's so amazing when you meet a band you love and they're even cooler than you imagined they would be in person. After 11 hour drive only to be greeted with the s**t news that the show got cancelled on a technicality. Anyway after shooting the s**t, some tequila and a cold b**r they laced me up with a shirt and record. They also said they would come back and play a show here whenever and get this ... hang out and party with us tonight at Ugly Duckling!!. How fu***ng cool is that??? So if you love this band as much as i do and you wanna way out ? come get found tonight at Ugly Duckling Karaoke Lounge. We're hooking all ticket holders with a drink on us...PS I heard a rumor the band will be here tonight around 9:30 so don't tell anyone.

It may look like working at this bar is all umbrella drinks and Miley Cyrus songs. It's not at all. In a metaphorical sense, the bar biz is a selfish lover .Especially in the beginning. Maybe any small business rlly. They. Need. Constant . Attention. Devotion even. Like a newborn it's yours and you love it but after wiping its ass a few thousand times, you can't help but wish it would s**u and just be cool for one night.

During this ironically solipsistic gauntlet of existence...If you're lucky enough , you get to share this awkward phase in the trenches with someone who can help you. Someone who genuinely understands the insatiable day to day needs of a start up bar and who works hard to help you out even when they don't rlly have to.

For me that someone has been our own Carly Presher. I mean, It's not even that she's a rad person (she is) and solid af bartender/manager ( she also is) and phenomenal singer (no question she is) ... it's not even having the luxury of someone experienced and positive to bounce your (my) dumb ideas off of all the time. Ok maybe it is that a little....Or maybe the attention to detail ? The solid work ethic? The refreshingly constant example of competence without ego? Idk. I do know this one time , I personally watched Carly physically disassemble ...then reassemble and accurately diagnose a whole ass commercial dishwasher with a Phillips head and a flash light. Wtf? ..🤯🤯🤯 imminent helpfulness . Defcon 1 level rad.

Anyway dear reader, I know we've gone hard on the ig emo Carly p**n lately , I'm sorry , it'll be over soon...and i know it might sound a lil generic to say ... idgaf .... It is truly with a heavy heart we say goodbye to Carly. Tonight is her last shift at Ugly Duckling and we will all miss her. Me especially.

She's going on some super lame once in a lifetime European vacation for 6 months I guess ....we wish her all the best . Anyway, yall come help us send her off proper. We're probably gonna do something really out of the ordinary tonight like drink and dance and sing all night. Ok sentimental rant over. Love you Carly! ❤️

Psyched to announce the return of Geeks Who Drink trivia at ugly duckling karaoke lounge. Now every Sunday 7-9pm. We're working hard to make it comfy and cool for yall so if u love trivia it's gonna be a good hang. We got food on site for Trivia every Sunday now from our pals Smash Bros Burgers and in addition to cash prizes & drink specials we'll be giving away all kinds of swag and concert tickets to upcoming shows Swan Dive LV . This Sunday we're giving away bass drum of death tix to the winning team. Must be present to win and follow Swan Dive LV and Ugly Duckling Karaoke Lounge to get the tix. We're located 1412 S main st in the 18b Las Vegas Arts District . So come get a drink win some stuff then sing some songs . 🤙

You know what doesn't get talked about much..🤔

Just how beautiful this place is! It's got this weird retro nostalgic vibe that kind of reminds me of Crystal Palace meets the lounge at The Peppermill. The room is designed for fun and it's perfect for birthday, or bachelorette party, or first date. As soon as you walk in the door it's like you stepped into a time machine that allows you to channel your inner child. The Sparkly chairs, Disco balls, and Rainbow lights just makes me happy.🪩👨‍🎤🦢🐤

We got to give a lot of the interior design credit to Joey of MOONCHANNEL STUDIOS & DESIGN who originally worked on the remodel of Oddfellows and also the green room of Swan Dive LV. Together with James Chauncey this room really came together quite nicely. As soon as we got those Karaoke books created by John Brophy of baby ketten karaoke the response was incredible.

It's something that you just have to see in person to really get the full effect. What's some of your favorite details of the bar? What were your impressions of the bar when you first saw it?
