BIG UPDATE and a word from our fearless leader Pete Sinadinos 🙏♥️
A Farewell, a Thank You, and One Last Cheers
After 46 years at the Airport Tavern & Steakhouse, known affectionately by so many as the Airport Bar, the time has come for me to step away and begin a new chapter- retirement. Writing these words isn’t easy, because this place has been so much more than a business to me. It has been my second home, my classroom, my proving ground, and the place where a lifetime of memories was made.
I started here at just 16 years old, working side by side with my father, Paul. For 23 years, I had the privilege of learning not only the restaurant business from him, but also the values of hard work, integrity, respect, and taking care of people. Those lessons stayed with me every day and shaped how the Airport Tavern was run long after he was gone.
Over the decades, I’ve had the honor of serving generations of families - watching kids grow up, celebrating milestones, sharing laughter, and sometimes even tears. You trusted us with your time, your celebrations, and your traditions. That is something I will be eternally grateful for.
To the many employees who walked through our doors over the years: thank you! Thank you for your dedication, your long hours, your loyalty, and your teamwork. Together, we experienced the highs and the lows, the victories and the defeats, the busy nights and the quiet ones. This place worked because of you, and I will always be proud of what we built together.
There were challenges along the way - no journey this long comes without them. The joy far outweighed the struggle. Every plate served, every familiar face at the bar, and every shared story made it all worthwhile.
I’d also like to share that New Year’s Eve will be my last night working at the Airport Tavern & Steakhouse. I can’t think of a better way to close this chapter than by celebrating with the people who made it so special. We would love to see each and every one of you stop in, have a drink, tell a story, share a laugh, raise a glass, and say cheers with us one last time.
As I prepare to sell the business and retire at 63, I do so with a full heart and deep gratitude. Thank you to every customer, every employee, every friend, and every family member who supported me over these 46 years. You made the Airport Tavern more than a restaurant - you made it a community.
This isn’t goodbye forever, but a farewell to a chapter that has meant everything to me. I leave with pride, appreciation, and memories that will last a lifetime. From the bottom of my heart , thank you!
With gratitude and respect,
Peter
