Cartel Brewery

Cartel Brewery Cartel Brewing Co is a home brewery transitioning to nano brewery in Lancaster, PA, Specializing in

After brewing quality craft beer at home for over 5 years, Adam Chamberland and Brian Patterson have been encouraged by the masses to pursue a fully licensed operation to produce more of their award winning ales to be made available to our loyal followers and the general public. In September of 2015, we entered our first homebrew competition together (Brian was a silver medalist in a past War of t

he Worts Competition in Philadelphia) and out of over 80 contenders, we took one of two first place prizes for our high octane espresso imperial stout "Stowaway", which was a collaboration with Lancaster's Passenger Coffee Roasters. We used their flagship espresso roast (Stowaway Blend) and developed a unique way of introducing the fresh pulled espresso shots into our brew. We partnered with Nate Kaiser, a friend and possible partner, who is the resident coffee master at Passenger. We want to start out by upgrading to a small batch professional turnkey system to further develop several unique recipes that we have designed, and intend to initially announce quarterly small batch bottle releases at our brewing location (TBD) for sampling and discussion until we complete the licensing process which could take quite a bit of time. With smaller batches, you can explore a lot more with recipes and keep a high level of quality and precision in every batch. Our trademark is pending and cleared to registration for Wicket Gate Artisan Ales and we are excited to embark on this journey, no matter where it leads. Thank you all for supporting us up until now and for your continued support!

Update / New Brand and FB Page

Hey Everyone,
Sorry for the dormancy of this page. I wanted to announce that after some property setbacks over the last couple of years, I am back on track and working towards a lease or purchase with 2 other partners in order to continue pursuing a licensed nano brewery operation in Lancaster County. I have learned a ton throughout this process and am still learning a lot about the complexities and challenges in working towards this goal. I have certainly not given up and have continued to optimize my brewing processes and techniques along the way.
I have been excited to work through a rebranding process over the last year and have made great progress there.
Thanks for liking the WG page and following us for it's duration, for those who supported our earlier GoFundMe campaign and enthusiasm for what we are trying to achieve.
I have started a new page (link below) and Facebook was not allowing me to merge this page so you will all need to like the new page if you would like to continue following our progress and participate in tastings, growler fills, cans, bottles etc.
I will try and be better at posting more activity, progress, brew sessions, growler fill opportunities, etc. cuz Lord knows I have Kegs to empty and refill constantly.

Cheers!

Adam

Bad news ☹️, the coffee cream ale appears to now be infected. I may have to painfully dump out the 2 cases I have left. This is the first time I've encountered this, so I will plan on brewing another batch asap as it was one of my favorite beers. Will keep you posted.

'Breakfast in the dark' is a smooth and creamy imperial milk stout fermented clean then re fermented with aged dark maple syrup supplied from friends in CT. We then kegged the beer on top of dalat peaberry robusta Vietnamese cold brew coffee and just a tad more maple syrup. Balanced with subtle complexities, this beer may only get better with age. 40 IBU, 8.7% ABV

Firefly Tears:.
A high gravity Belgian tripel with an ever so slightly higher hop bill, utilizing calypso and glacier hops to impart fruity and subtle spice notes and a hint of black pepper. A generous portion of fresh Anjou pear purée was added to the boil as well to balance out the sweetness and flavor. A longer fermentation on Belgian Trappist yeast has produced a strong yet balanced summer libation for immediate enjoyment or one that will age quite well. 37 IBU, 11.2% ABV.

Available now for members and friends!

Today's brew:
A high gravity Belgian tripel with an ever so slightly higher hop bill, utilizing calypso and glacier hops to impart fruity and subtle spice notes and a hint of black pepper. A generous portion of fresh pear purée will be added to the boil as well to balance out the sweetness and flavor. A longer fermentation on Belgian Trappist yeast will finish the job and make this beer one that will mature over time and provide a nice crisp summer libation or age into the winter to warm you on those cold evenings. 37 IBU and projected ABV of 11.7
Wish me luck!

Special thanks to Tim Cranmer who funded and requested this beer.

Growlergate 2017 in Mass. anyone have an opinion on this?

Filling a growler in Massachusetts just got a little more confusing. The state’s Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (ABCC) released an advisory Wednesday to inform brewers and consumers alike that it is allowable to fill unlabeled growlers. This advisory didn’t change any laws. In fact, there is...
