The Truitt's Cave Dining Chamber opened in 1940 and has had a long history of welcoming diners over the decades. This unique experience includes warming by a 90 foot natural flue fireplace, playing a game of pool, or sitting at the handcrafted cedar bar. On warmer days, diners can enjoy sitting on the patio watching TV, playing pool under the cliff of the cave, or sitting on the edge of the stream

and cooling their feet in the water that comes out of the cave (58 degrees). The kids (and young at heart) can also enjoy watching our goats romp on the rock wall located next to the patio. Try our signature Boulder Burger, 1/2 pound of seasoned meat. For those that like to spice up things, we have our Lava Burger, our homemade hot sauce is cooked into the burger and top it off with pepperjack cheese and jalapeno bacon and you'll sure be a blazin'. All of our burgers are hand-patted and served on toasted buns. Two of our top sellers are the Roast Beef, sliced roast beef covered with cheese sauce and grilled onions, served on a toasted pretzel bun AND our Pulled Pork, 15-hour smoked pork served with mild, medium, or hot BBQ sauce. All of our sandwiches, burgers, and wraps come with freshly fried chips of fries. End your meal with our number ONE selling dessert, the Brownie-a-la-Mode. Our brownies are made from scratch in our kitchen and topped with a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, chocolate shavings, and a cherry. The ultimate chocolate lovers dream!! So come on out to the ultimate Man Cave, THE CAVE BAR & GRILL located in Lanagan, Missouri at the intersection of EE and Highway 59.

I would like to thank the many, many thousands of patrons we have had over the years that came and shared their time with a bit of Southwest Miasouri history- Truitt's Cave. THE CAVE is permanently closed for reasons I can not share at this time. People say the restaurant business is one of the most stressful industries but to me it has been one of the most exciting times of my life. I will miss the roar of bikes, the ones who dared to have the Teresa Hot sauce and not wear gloves, the gorgeous cars from the various car clubs, the adorable fur babies, and most of all the wonderful people who came year after year. I wish everyone peace and love.

For those wondering about the goats. My biggest concern was they would all be together and be taken care of like pets. A wonderful family took the whole family of goats. They are living a great life. There were tears from those that watched them drive away to their new home.

Three days until the kickoff for bike week. THE CAVE will be open Wednesday, September 18 through Sunday, September 22 for Bikes, Blues, and BBQ. Drink and food specials all week with proceeds going to Su***de Prevention. We are busy getting things ready and even the goats are getting out their Harley gear for the event. Come out and enjoy meeting new friends and hanging out with the cave goats while having a shot of Pink Balls or a Harley Davidson.

THE CAVE is open on Saturday,, August 17th. After a day of cleaning up after last night's storm, come out and have your favorite beer in an ice cold mug. Prayers to those who have been affected by the storms and be careful with your outside activities during today's heat advisory.

PSA: Makes you rethink the color of your bathing suit. Be safe everyone.

This is a great safety guide for children swimming in lakes and swimming pools. The color of the bathing suit can make it easier or more difficult to see children while they are swimming. This is a good reminder to always have adult supervision when children are swimming. (Thanks to Praire Lakes for this.)

**While the green/blue/aqua colored bathing suits are pretty for this time of year, they may not be what’s best! 😉

THE CAVE staff would like to welcome the newest additions to the cave goats. Johnny (yes, he is the man in black) and June are pictured along with their older sister Snowflake and their mother, Brownie. Come out and enjoy one of our ice cold frozen beer mugs filled with your favorite beer or have one of our patriot shots on special this weekend. Have a safe 4th if July.
