Here's to all the unstoppable empowering women who participated in our Conference on Thursday! Thank you all for making this such a successful and inspiring event!
EQuest Global Group and Latinas On The Plaza had a full house of Chicagoland's cross-cultural women at ‘The Art of Empowerment’ Conference on Thursday. Gina Amaro Rudan began the day with a captivating keynote that described her journey from going blind to regaining her vision and becoming a best-selling author and Diversity Manager at Google. She conducted a workshop on identifying and expressing your genius, networking, learning from youth and maintaining a healthy life style.
Continental breakfast and lunch was served, followed by a Health and Wellness Session by Kathleen Caldwell, who is a popular health coach and Founder of Caldwell Consulting Group. She presented an energizing Zumba session and offered tips on nutrition and how to use the power of the female mind to stay empowered.
Mindfulness was a major theme throughout the night. Shebani Kulkarni, Mindfulness Instructor & President of EQuest Global Group, conducted a Mindfulness exercise and spoke about how modern thought leaders integrate mindfulness into their lives and their institutions with powerful results.
Luz Canino-Baker, President of Latinas on the Plaza, capped off the Speaker Sessions with a talk about emotional self-awareness and the ability to recognize one's feelings and be received as a grounded and transparent communicator.
The Conference ended with Round Table discussions, facilitated by Dr. Sakira Jackson, on cross-cultural challenges and best practices at work as well as in other areas of life. They were led by 14 influential women, who were successful entrepreneurs or leaders from Fortune 500 Companies like Deloitte, New York Life, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. A Cocktail Reception ended the day with the women networking and shopping for a cause at the vendor booths. Raffle prizes were given to the winners and the Silent Auction raised money for scholarships.
Training programs and Mastermind Groups were created to keep these cross-cultural women empowered throughout the year. Comcast, Hoffman Estates Community Bank, HispanicPro, Reflejos Bilingual Newspaper, Negocios, Now and New York Life were the main sponsors for this inspiring event.
