Sweet Melissa's in Lakemoor, 12" sausage and pepperoni. First time here, so I just ordered off the menu with no special requests.
Crust was crackery-crispy with no discernible bend at all, even towards the center. For me, 10/10!
Cheese was perhaps a bit heavy for my taste, but it had a nice meltiness to it and did not get hard or brittle as the pizza cooled. For me, 9/10.
Sauce amount was good in proportion to the pizza size - not over-sauced, not under-sauced. It was in-your-face robust...no detectable sweetness at ALL. I'm a guy that likes all types of sauce, but I do tend to like them a TAD bit on the sweeter side. For me, 8/10.
Sausage was chunky and placed under the cheese. I tend to like my toppings over the cheese to get them a bit crisped up in the oven. Sausage itself was good, but I've had better flavor at other establishments. For me, 8/10.
Pepperoni was placed over the cheese and received an excellent crispness from the oven. By far, my favorite of the two toppings. For me, 10/10!
Didn't ask for well-done or anything special and it came out with a perfect bake, IMO. Can't remember for sure, but I think this 12" with pepperoni and sausage came to around $19.50 before tax, so not terribly expensive.
Overall, I'd give it a 8.5/10 due to the flavor profile of the sausage, and the robustness of the sauce. Had it been pepperoni only, probably would have rated it 9/10. Would definitely visit again if I'm in the area!
