It is with a heavy heart that we share the Carp lost one of its special patrons this week. Bert Healy, a regular from Westside, passed away earlier in the week. He will be laid to rest on Tuesday, Oct. 25, so we’d like to honor Bert with a celebration Tuesday evening. Please join us wearing your ISU or Ar-We-Va gear (Bert’s favorite teams) to share a few Budweisers and favorite stories about our buddy Bert. It’s the end of an era! You may have heard the Thirsty Carp has been sold. First State Bank, Bart’s full-time employer, has purchased the Carp with the intention of transforming it into a branch of the bank. (Now you can deposit your beer money into a moderate-interest savings account or CD!)

The Carp’s final day of operation will be Monday, Oct. 31.

Please watch our page and stop in regularly for specials as we sell down our inventory, including food, beverages and clothing.

Dutch, Bart and their families deeply appreciate your years of support and patronage. And we are grateful to the Carp's staff, past and present, for their dedication. Thank you for all the memories and many fun stories. It has been quite a ride! Cheers!

The Thirsty Carp will open at 2:00pm on 9/10 for the Iowa vs. Iowa State game.

***Happy Hour will also be extended from 2:00-4:00pm***

Fryers will be on at 3:00 to enjoy your favorite Carp game day appetizers
