Join us 6 days a week for lunch, brunch, dinner, cocktails, and Saturday Victorian High Tea (closed Tuesdays). Experience the most entertaining destination in Lake Geneva where Gilded Age living mixes with modern day indulging, creating a fancy-free environment reminiscent of a 1920's house party. Built in 1885 as a summer residence for Emily Baker, (Become a Friend of EMILY BAKER, for more inside details) the 17,000 sq. ft, 30 room Queen Anne Mansion was first named "Redwood Cottage." Over the last 125 years the home has had many lives: a SUMMER HOME for Emily and her 5 children; a SCHOOL DORMITORY for the Lake Geneva Seminary for Young Ladies; a "fashionable" SANITARIUM for wealthy Chicagoans recovering from light nervous disorders; a clandestine Speakeasy during Prohibition and by the 1930's it became a lakeside HOTEL & RESTAURANT, best known over the decades as the "St. In 2010 the "Redwood Cottage" has been lovingly restored and renamed the BAKER HOUSE in tribute to the homes' first family, Emily and Robert Baker.

Our weekend haunting festivities start TONIGHT!

Need a little liquid courage? Happy Hour in the Ringmaster Bar runs 4–6 PM. Dinner begins at 5 PM. Have something delicious before heading downstairs, where the mansion’s history gets a little…spooky.

HAUNTED BASEMENT TOURS

Saturday, October 24 | 8–11 PM

Costume contest with prizes, complimentary grazing stations, a full cash bar, and DJ Illya starting at 9 PM. Then we take the party downstairs; the Boiler Room afterparty keeps going until 1 AM.

Come for dinner Saturday before the party and you'll have the distinct pleasure of experiencing Nino Cruzillini perform, 6:30-8:30PM as you dine. He's a perfectly spicy first course before the evening goes off.

Saturday High Tea at The Baker House is an occasion worth leaving the afternoon open for. Little sandwiches, lovely sweets, another pour of tea, and absolutely no reason to rush off when the conversation gets good.

Bring your mother, your dad, your daughter, or the friend you keep saying you need to see. A Victorian mansion overlooking the lake makes a rather lovely place to catch up.

“Is there a special, unique, beautiful place in Lake Geneva where I can throw a party?”

Funny you should ask. We have a mansion.

A gorgeous Victorian mansion overlooking the lake, with rooms that give your guests plenty to talk about before anyone’s even ordered a drink. Think sunset views, ornate fireplaces, beautiful woodwork, and the wonderful feeling that you’ve invited everyone somewhere extraordinary.

Start with cocktails in the Music Room or the Ringmaster Bar. Gather around a table for dinner, speeches, and a few happy tears. Then take the celebration downstairs to the Boiler Room or out to the garden, where the lights are low and your friends suddenly remember how much they love to dance.

Birthday? Wedding weekend? Anniversary? A long-overdue excuse to get your favorite people together? We’d love to hear what you’re dreaming up.

A little change of plans.

With the Brewers playing Game One of the World Series this Friday, October 23, Neil Tobin has generously postponed his nearly sold-out show at The Baker House. Wisconsin has a rather important game to watch, and Neil’s evening of magic and mystery deserves everyone’s undivided attention.

All ticket holders will receive a full refund. The new show date is still to be determined, and we’ll share it as soon as it’s confirmed.

We’re looking forward to welcoming Neil to the mansion, and we hope you’ll plan on being here for his rescheduled performance. Some things are worth waiting for.

Sunlight across the bed. Ch*****ne for two. And beyond those tall windows, Geneva Lake stretching out like you have nowhere else you need to be.

There’s a particular pleasure in watching the seasons change from a room like this at The Baker House. Autumn’s gold gives way to winter’s softer light, and suddenly, staying in becomes a beautiful plan.
