Welcome back facebookers! Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving. Let's update you on continue efforts of Dutka's Brewing Company.

*if you have been following you have seen that my brother Jason and I made High Country Canadian Draft, but we didn't. We actually made an Octoberfest Lager. Sorry for the mix up*

The Cowboy Golden Lager & The Classic Blonde Ale were a big hit with everyone who tasted them, but if we had to pick a winner it seemed that more liked the ale than the lager. But don't get me wrong, the lager had a its own large helping of followers.

Jason and I brewed but a batch of Wizenbier & Octoberfest Lager. They were bottled a few days ago and we tested them on Saturday night. Again like the Golden Lager & the Blonde ale the beers were a success. The darkness of the Octoberfest was very scary when we were bottling, but it all turned out pretty damn good. This time we also syphoned the brew out of the fermenter into a different bucket from which we could bottle from. This cut out a lot, if not all, of the sediment we were collecting in the other brews.

Next me and Jeff "Opie" Rosengrant brewed a High Country Canadian Draft. We filmed the process for a show we like to call "F^cked Up-Crazy". I know most of you are still waiting on the show "Connoisseurs", but with the work on the brew and these holidays I haven't gotten around to editing yet.

We should be chilling the rest of the Octoberfest & Wizenbier by the end of today and I am hoping, very soon, to finally pick out our flavor a beer and start making mass quantities. Heeeelllooooo Facebook!

Exciting days are upon us here at Dutka's Brewing Company. At the time of this writing we now have 1 case of American Lager in cool conditioning, 2 cases of brew fermenting, and 2 more cases bottled in warm conditioning.

The two brews, Cowboy Golden Lager & Classic American Blonde Ale, were bottled on Sunday during all those fantastic football games [or ugly games if your and Eagles fan :'( ]. We used normal cane sugar because we believe it adds more to the head without creating a "cidery" taste like some internet forums led us to believe.

Also in two more days we will be bottling our Whispering Weizenbier & the High Country Canadian Draft.

I hope that we can brew another batch or two up tonight as we still have the Oktoberfest Vienna Lager & the Bewitched Red Ale on deck. I know we are a little late to be brewing those types of beer, but hell what do you care? As long as there's beer right?

So stay tuned to receive an invite to the Dutka's Brewing Company's Taste Testing Event. Five beers, one company, one location.

Welcome back friends! Saturday, what a day.

We crafted two new beers, Whispering Wheat Weizenbier & High Country Canadian Draft. The Weizenbier is obviously of German decent. Its suppose to have a very fruity & beerdy taste. While the Canadian Draft is a balance beer, but with more of an hoppy accent.

We also tasted the Cowboy Lager & Classic Blonde Ale. They seem to be slowing down in their fermentation and if we owned one this would be the time to transfer it into the carboy. We will leave it for a few more days but the beer does taste very good even without the carbonation.

Finally, the American Lager we created with the Brewers Best kit seems to be mellowing out from the conditioning. Half of the beer was bottled on the 27th of October and has been chilled for three days. Before hand there was a huge hop flavor at the end of the beer, almost forcing a bitter beer face, but now the end taste is smooth and drinkable.

If you've been following the post you know we also bottle the other half of the Lager on November 3rd, but in this bottling we used regular cane sugar VS. corn sugar. I didn't taste the difference, but my brother and friends say they like the Oct. 27th/corn sugar better, even though the cane sugar produced a thicker head where the corn was almost nonexistent. (corn sugar is 100% fermentable). So, we are chilling the rest of the Oct. 27th and we will condition the Nov. 3rd for a few more days then chill.

We'd like to thank everyone for following. The taste testing event should be held very soon as we now have four brews fermenting, half a case going through chilled conditioning, & a full case going through regular conditioning. See you again soon!

Hey Facebookers! Lot's of stuff to update today and need to avoid Facebook crashing on us (again), so let's get to it.

Yesterday I went out for some early Christmas shopping. While I was out I traveled to Home Depot and picked up three 5 gallon buckets with lids. These will be new fermenters. From there I headed to the wine crafting & supplies store in the Target parking lot next to Star Bucks in Dickson City, PA (once I remember the name of the store I'll post it up for ya'll).

At the wine store I picked up some hydrometers. These little guys release air without allowing any back it. Once filled with water we can see the air escaping the fermenter. Once water stops bubbling with escaping air we know that the brew is done fermenting. Hopefully this saves us time and stops us from wasting brew by tasting it.

The wine store is pretty neat. Although they do not have brewing supplies, wine crafting and brewing use the same tools. They did inform me of the website they order their supplies from and if need be I can have them order anything from that site and have it shipped to the store (bulk Items!). Finally they have some type of wine crafting seminar. Customers basically make their own wine under professional supervision and come back at a later time to transfer to their carboy and/or bottles.

Now when I headed back to my Christmas gift hunt the trail led me to Sears. Walking about I stumbled upon a Mr. Beer rack. Mr. Beer? At Sears? For a Great Price? Must be there for Christmas time. Although Jason and I wanted to start to clone our Original American Pale Ale I couldn't pass on the Mr. Beer. It was like fate calling out to me.

It was a very eventful day yesterday & I'm excited to start creating loads of beer. If you've been counting throughout all our older post Dutka's Brewing Company now has five 5 gallon fermenters and one 2 gallon, for a total of 6 fermenters containing 27 gallons. Wow-wee!

Welcome, once again, to the Dutka's Brewing Company's page! We'd like to take this moment to thank you all for following & we appreciate all the new friends that liked our page!

We've done it again! Jason & I brewed two new batches of beer. The first is our Cowboy Golden Lager. As you've might have seen from the post before the lager is a very touchy brew to master. This certain beer comes, once again, from our friends at Mr. Beer. (follow Mr. Beer @ facebook.com/mrbeer).

As you all might know the first batch of our lager was brewed from a Brewers Best kit, which is still in the conditioning phase after a few unsuccessful taste test. Although the first condition & chilled batch was not up to par with the Dutka's standard, we are still hopeful that the "tweek" we've added to the second bottling will be a success.

Now the second beer we brewed was a Classic American Pale Ale. Honestly, we have no idea what to expect from this brew. Some signs point to the happile successful Dutka's Original American Pale Ale, but we just do not know what the "Classic Blonde Ale" will taste like.

The Dutka'a American Pale Ale was more of a red/amberish color. The taste... was amazing! But the questions we must ask ourselves is, What will an ale that is an "American Classic" or a golden/wheat color taste like? Will we be sacrificing the Pale Ale my brother & I have come to love?

We'll have to see...

So keep following & tell your friends! Also, keep all those eyes pealed for the "Connoisseurs" show & our next post that will contain information on our next brew... the Bewitched Pale Ale!

Hello to all our loyal followers and greetings to the "noobs". We appreciate all your attention and we hope you enjoy reading the Dutka's Brewing Company's updates.

Yesterday Jason & I bottled another case of our lager. This is the same American Lager we bottle previously, but for this case we let it sit in the fermentor a week longer. Although the yeast successfully fermented into alcohol before the first bottling, we wanted to experiment on the lager to see if we can tweek the taste a little bit.

Lagers are a tricky brew to craft and will turn on the brewer if not treated properly. So, to ensure we are not cutting our losses to early with the lager we are chilling half a case now, conditioning the second half for another week & the second case will condition until we get too thirsty and have to drink it.

I will say that, Yes, the Dutka's Original Pale Ale is a keeper & we will be experimenting on reproducing that same great taste in large quantities to hopefully bring to you, the public.

Thanks for following & tell your friends!
