Hey yall! It’s time for another ‼️PSA‼️ from your friends at Brickyard Barbecue!
We are fortunate enough to be blessed with a whole slew of new followers on here, and friendly faces from all over the state at the restaurant. So with that being said, we would like to further reiterate our commitment to quality and procedures we have in place!
As you all know, I (Davey) am a giant barbecue nerd… so when the guys at LeRoy and Lewis in Austin dropped a new cook book I immediately had to go pick it up. In the fist couple of pages, there is a preamble stating “why barbecue sells out”. Without making this post any longer then it is intended to be… predicting how much of each protein to cook is an un-winnable game. We do not believe in serving an inferior product and charging the public top dollar for reheated barbecue. The quality is lost in reheating. We’ve made a commitment to quality when we opened, and we still fully stand behind that commitment. Unfortunately, this has a tendency to disappoint some customers as this is not the norm for restaurants in the north east as it is in restaurants in Texas.
We aren’t here to be a cookie cutter restaurant. We are here to do our best to bring you barbecue that is focused on Texas tradition. We are here to be abnormal to the region. We are here to push boundaries that have been followed in this region of the country, and we have standards in doing so. We aren’t happy to turn guests away when we sell out, but on the other hand would much rather turn down business then sell sub par food for a quick buck.
Which brings me to the next topic at hand: Weekend call in orders. Due to the volume in which we are extremely fortunate to have, we cannot take call in orders Friday-Sunday. The reason for this is simple: people are standing in line for up to 2 hours in order to get food, out of respect to them we do not feel it is appropriate to execute orders when they are willing to give us what is the most valuable thing in the world: their time. There is only so much barbecue per day, and if you are willing to wait for it, you get first priority. Again, we are not in this to be ordinary or to fall in line with the norm. Out of respect to our guests, we operate on a first come first serve basis. If you are willing to give us your time, we need to do whatever we can in order to make sure you leave with a smile on your face.
The simple fix! Pre order bulk orders through our catering department. This gives us the means in which to appropriately plan for your order, and add additional proteins in order to execute it. It’s a win win for everyone!
In closing, I want to thank you for bearing with us through another long rant. You guys made this dream come true. We are eternally grateful and will continue to do our best to serve the most honest and delicious barbecue around.
